Haven't done it myself but as far as I understand it works this way:
Put UHD in optical drive
Run Makemkv and do nothing else. It will just enable LibreDrive to circumvent bus encrytion etc.
Make a protected ISO with other tools using the drive letter of the optical drive

Re: AACS 2.1 support
Mike,
I really appreciate that you try that your program is as much as possible compatible with other software. That's not a given since some developpers or companies try to be not.
The question has to go forward to @Marty and / or @TerryRaspin since I stiil have no AACS2.1 disc.

Re: AACS 2.1 support
Mike, I think the answer is quite easy. Making a protected ISO and then mounting it with either Windows 10 or any other tool gives us the opportunity to decrypt it with whatever software that is capable to decrypt this disc first. Be it your software or your competitor's. Sometimes your program is f...

@mike,
I guess Teddy and Marty had a "quick & dirty version" to test. Any idea when the corrected next beta can be released?

Re: UHD Friendly / Official 4K
I already sent in a dump of the firmware. So if you need a drive working now with UHDs, better go with the Asus. Update: with the new 1.46 release MakeMKV starts to read an UHD but then says that a libre-compatible drive is needed... Do you get a "keep fingers crossed" status on the right...

Re: AACS 2.1 support
@Mike, great success to beat AACS2.1!!!!! But also like TerryRaspin I think that unfortunately the task is on your side. Putting in these zero sectors make the M2TS files incompatible with all software that's out there. Padding is needed instead. Hope you understand and hope you will refine Makemkv ...

Re: Spider-man Far From Home and ASUS BW-16D1HT
I would rather try a cleaning CD-ROM with small brushes first before I try these options. Far less work and much more convenient. CD-ROM for the following reason: All lasers / lenses are co-positioned -reads are very close to each other. The least critical discs are CD-ROMs because of much larger st...

Re: Assist Flashing LG BP50NB40
Is this an internal drive or is it attached via USB in an enclosure? If attached via USB then that is the reason. Some enclosures don't support all necessary commands that are needed for flashing.

Re: My head hurts from this...
The Issue is most likely the connection via USB. Not all interfaces support all necessary commands to flash your drive. You should connect it directly to your computer via SATA if you have the possibility. Then you can put it back to the USB connection.

No. NS60 will not work with AnyDVD. If - then flash it to NS55 1.02. All higher versions of NS55 will also not work with AnyDVD.

Re: Manufacturing Defects as Protection?
I just did some testing flashing firmwares and needed to try therefore an original disc. I picked one that I only played once half a year ago and the disc looked prestine. Well, the drive complained about missing bus encryption and the disc could only be read after cleaning with soap and water. Sinc...

Sounds like a player in software is needed that operates in a sandbox to not be tracked. Or am I totally wrong?
