Re: Reading Dolby Vision FEL/MEL Layer
I think that's telling you that the video stream is 93% of the total file size.

What is the name of the dump files you submitted? Posting that info helps other people know if they should submit their dumps as well.

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
The blocking that might be preventing you from downloading UHD hashed keys might have nothing to do with your local computer or router (though it might). The server is in Russia so sometimes folks with fancy routers have geoIP blocking turned on. Lots of times, a user's ISP is 'being helpful' and bl...

Re: Step by step instructions
Ok, I read the solution in another thread. For those encountering the same thing, click on the big DVD Player icon to make the .mkv file. Hello, I'm also a noob here. Which thread are you referring to? Sometimes people don't realize that after one puts a disc into their optical drive and MakeMKV re...

Re: Windows/VLC integration: Can MakeMKV only integrate one disc at a time?
Do you have 'ask for single drive mode' checked in MakeMKV's preferences?
I don't know how that will interact with VLC, but it isolates an instance of MakeMKV to a single drive and allows two (or more) instances of MakeMKV to rip from different drives at the same time.

Re: MakeMKV Fails to Open Discs on BRAND NEW DVD Discs
I'm not sure what your specific errors are. There are two common categories of failures people experience with DVDs. The first category of failure is common to any disc and it is a failure of the optical drive to correctly read the disc. It manifests is various ways but the net result is the same. G...

I'm having a similar issue using a Pioneer BDR-S13U-X 5.25 SATA via my Mac. @smokeywhitetown did you ever find a solution? Anyone else have any idea what the issue might be? Copy & paste the MakeMKV log of a failed rip into a post here. Can't really tell what might be happening without some log...

Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
Good afternoon! I'm new to this forum. I'd like to buy a Bluray burner that supports 4k, possibly region free. I'm not planning to burn disks by now, but I'd want something future proof. Can you please give me a suggestion? Thank you very much Pioneer drives are considered the best for burning and ...

Re: Software Key
I think MakeMKV is a one person operation, so it is up to Mike to deal with your license key request via email. That said, your original license key should've been emailed to you. Most email services keep all your email on their server so unless you've lost access to the email address you used to bu...

Did this ever work? I'm getting the same error on The Thing as well. Is there a way I can check what versions have been submitted before sending my file? MKB20_v76_The_Thing_2FCB.tgz The only real way to check is if people posted on the forum the name of the dump they emailed in. In any case, it do...

As Rojma has suggested, the standard advice is to gently clean the disc and ...

Re: movie stops playing after 33 seconds
Pretty much all 4K UHDs are h.265 encoded video. MediaInfo can show you a lot details about files, including what kind of video encoding they have. Does your TV play any other 4K UHD rips? Decoding h.265 video is more computationally expensive than h.264 video. In any case, before you spend a lot of...
