In recent XBMC releases, the de-interlacing performance is woeful.
If you have it turned on, try turning off the de-interlacing and see if you're still having sync issues.

Fails about 1/3 of the way in. This log is from an ISO, but, the physical disc fails in the same way, I keep the ISO around and retry it every release.
