Your Amazon link is for a 4K disk, but you are posting in the "regular" BluRay section. Can you post the SHA1 hash of the problem disk's AACS/Unit_Key_RO.inf file please, just to confirm which disk it is?
Problems with 4K disks are best discussed in the "UHD discs" section.

Re: Dump Submitted - Monster Squad
There's also this entry in KEYDB.cfg which might work for you: 0x86F317B3A4BF176DE5CB7EFD0D13A6465D30258F = The Monster Squad [The Monster Squad] | D | 2023-10-10 And even if it doesn't, there's a chance I may still be able to help - check PM if you're interested. Or just wait for MakeMKV's processi...

Re: USB drive for using DVDFab / AnyDVD with UHD disks.
Bu40n is the only drive to recommend for what you want to do. Thanks. Did you need to flash this drive with different firmware, or did it work for you "out of the box"? What would the "best" firmware for this drive be? Is there a "bad" firmware version beyond which thi...

Re: USB drive for using DVDFab / AnyDVD with UHD disks.
I would not call key.db producing your own keys sure it might have some a week or 2 before makemkv. AFAIK MakeMKV needs a VUK, but I only need the unit keys to play a UHD directly using mpv. (LibreDrive obviously needs to be activated, and I don't get Java menus this way either.) My goal here would...

USB drive for using DVDFab / AnyDVD with UHD disks.
Hi, Can anyone recommend a USB drive that DVDFab and/or AnyDVD could use to extract keys from UHD disks please? I already have a very nice Pioneer XD08 which is compatible with LibreDrive, but I'd like to be able to procure at least some of my own keys locally too. I've already emailed Asmcom (as my...

If the current KEYDB.cfg works for you then I guess my job here is done .fivestarplus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 6:56 pmI copied the keydb.cfg file to the directory you said and restarted MakeMKV. MakeMKV is in the process of ripping this UHD 4K disc now. Will be done in about an hour.

Yes, MakeMKV cannot find the key for this particular disk. There may still be something I can do though - check PM.

Re: King Kong (1976) 4K UHD
Thanks for trying, but you need to copy KEYDB.cfg into the C:\Users\UM790/.MakeMKV directory, i.e. the same directory where MakeMKV wrote MKB20_v77_King_Kong_3DC8.tgz.fivestarplus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 6:13 pmI just tried the keydb.cfg file and it didn't work. I copied it in the "Programs Files (x86)/MakeMKV" directory.

Re: King Kong (1976) 4K UHD
Not working for me, as yet. Didn't try the KEYDB.cfg manual update business (actually not even sure where that file is on my Mac). Not sure I want to get into that. I think I'll just wait until the update happens as it normally does. Has always worked in the past. The idea is that you'd download a ...

Re: King Kong (1976) 4K UHD
FWIW the latest KEYDB.cfg contains an entry for this MKBv77 disk: 0x32EC72B9A3999996A17CB7EF938E1AEFF96CEAA3 = King Kong (King Kong) | D | 2024-01-03 so if SHA1(AACS/Unit_Key_RO.inf) for your disk is 0x32EC72B9A3999996A17CB7EF938E1AEFF96CEAA3 then copying this KEYDB.cfg file into your .MakeMKV direc...

Re: The Fugitive 4K
How did you compute the disk's "ID" of 0xAF785AAEB6E21E9E? It's too short to be what KEYDB.cfg would consider to be a disk ID value, which is computed as: SHA1(AACS/Unit_Key_RO.inf) Is that actually its "Volume ID"? If you become desperate, there may be a way of getting MakeMKV t...

Re: Blu-ray Backup unplayable from SSD/HDD in VLC?
Thanks for feedback. I found out that the problem is related to the Blu-ray discs I tested with. Turned out these specific discs cause problems no matter the OS or ripping software used. Well, maybe they do or maybe they don't, because you still haven't provided a shred of useful information about ...

Re: Blu-ray Backup unplayable from SSD/HDD in VLC?
As I mentioned above, it is NOT a VLC for Linux problem, since it plays anything flawlessly, UNLESS it is a Blu-ray dump created by MakeMKV for Linux. VLC DOES play VLC is an extremely complex piece of software, and I have no idea how Linux Mint has chosen to compile and configure it. You say it is...

Re: Blu-ray Backup unplayable from SSD/HDD in VLC?
The player just crashed. This is insufficient information to say anything about what your problem might be. Some things you might like to consider are: - Does this crash produce a stack trace? - What version of VLC are you using? - What kind of graphics card does this machine have? - Do you have th...
