Double-sided DVD help from a newbie

Post by Merc136 »

Howdy.

I did a search for help on double-sided DVD ripping, however it mostly pertained to appending and merging.

I've only been using this program for a few months, and only use basic functions. I'm sure there is a lot I don't know.

I ran into a problem ripping a double-sided DVD. It ripped the first part of the movie from one side perfectly. When I flipped it over, the only titles if finds to save are two bonus features--it does not find the other half of the movie, and in my newbie ignorance cannot figure out how to get it to save the rest of the feature. If it helps, here is the text of what it did:

MakeMKV v1.8.0 win(x86-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Title #0 was added (37 cell(s), 1:59:12)
Title #1 has length of 12 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #2 has length of 12 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Operation successfully completed
Saving 1 titles into directory C:/Users/dmvalent/Videos/Ripped DVDs/Movies
1 titles saved (Here is the first part of the movie from the first side of the DVD it correctly saved.)
Using direct disc access mode
CellWalk algorithm failed (structure protection is too tough?), trying CellTrim algorithm
Fake cells occupy 100% of the title - assuming fake title
Title #1 has length of 21 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #2 has length of 30 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #4 was added (1 cell(s), 0:23:51)
Title #5 was added (1 cell(s), 0:16:12)
Subtitle stream #3 is identical to stream #2 and was skipped
Subtitle stream #4 is identical to stream #2 and was skipped
Subtitle stream #3 is identical to stream #2 and was skipped
Subtitle stream #4 is identical to stream #2 and was skipped
Operation successfully completed
Saving 2 titles into directory C:/Users/dmvalent/Videos/Ripped DVDs/Movies
Track #2 turned out to be empty and was removed from output file
Track #2 turned out to be empty and was removed from output file
2 titles saved These 2 titles were just the bonus features.)
