Unable to copy at all using either Windows or a Mac

Hi, apologies for a newbie question here and many thanks for your help in advance.

Am running makemkv version 1.8.0 on both my windows laptop and my imac. I have bought and am using a generic bluray reader which is recognised by both machines.

I have tried ripping a Take That Concert (I know :lol: )and then ripping 'Life of Pi'.

I start the process off in either machine and things seem fine but I keep getting the same result: '0 items saved, 1 item failed'

If someone could be kind enough to point me in the right direction that would be great. Many Thanks

002003:0000 Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:UNRECOVERED READ ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00000.m2ts' at offset '372123648'
That indicates that the drive couldn't read part of the disk. Since a rip is intended to make a "bit for bit" copy, MakeMKV won't skip over flaws like a hardware player would.

First step would be to try cleaning the disk. Personally, I do this with Pledge Furniture Polish and a soft cotton towel, because the wax in it will fill in small scratches, but that's entirely up to you.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Did clean discs (discs have only ever been viewed once in my PS3) with a cotton cloth after the first few failures and tried it again with the same results.

Could it be the drive thats faulty at all, I am not the most technically gifted person so wouldnt know how to tell?

The test to see if it is the drive would be to rip a different disk, and see if it, too, has unrecoverable read errors, as well as trying the SAME disk to see if the errors are in the same place, or move around. Sometimes, a drive will have seek failures, and not get to where the software expects it to be.
