Your post suggests LibreDrive is enabled for your drive so I would expect it to work with MakeMKV. Is it not working in some way?

I've been using MKV for many years, my LG UHD drive that worked for a long time started to have issues. I purchased a Pioneer BDR-S13UBK thinking I would be able to fdowngrade the firmware by now. Any updates on firmware downgrades for this drive?

Good evening everyone.
Just joined your forurm today.

I have been looking into how to convert my media into mkv. I have a Pioneer Slim Player that i have questions on as far as making it usable for UHD Disks.

My specs are :

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD05
Revision: 3.10
Serial number: RDDL07******
Firmware date: 2017-06-22
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 72

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8232
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-XD05
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 3.10/ID34
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

I was hoping with your guidence that you could assist me in getting this UHD compatible, as of right now it does not see the UHD disks.
I did see this on the first page listing : PIONEER-BD-RW___BDR-XD05-3.10-1D3C06AA-8232ID35-20170622

thanks for helping.

Hi there

I recently purchased a Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD drive to use on my M2 Mac laptop to backup some of my 4K UHD movies. Unfortunately, I didn't realise there would be so many copy protections and I am basically unable to use the drive. After some searching, I stumbled upon this forum to discover that it could be the firmware (1.03) on my drive that is causing issues. I managed to download an older firmware version (1.02), but not 1.01, and at any rate have been unable to downgrade to 1.02.

Would love to purchase MakeMKV but unfortunately it doesn't work for me, potentially due to the 'libre drive' issues?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated please! Drive info below.

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/rdisk6
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: CGDL007662WL
Firmware date: 2023-01-06
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 76

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8E21
Firmware version: ID05

Disc Information
Label: TOP_GUN_MAVERICK
Timestamp: 2022-08-18 10:22:47
Protection: AACS2.0/C v76
Data capacity: 93.22 Gb
Disc type: BD-ROM UHD
Number of layers: 3
Bus encryption flags: 80

Thanks a lot!

Is there a chance that the Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD / BDR-XS07UHD or BDR-S13U will be flashable for casual users in the future? Guess I'll have to go for a BU40N drive now because of that crap.

We are already waiting for about a year. So not likely that there is a solution soon.
