Re: How does MakeMKV separate DTS core from DTS HD-MA ?

It is pointless to rip both. Only grab the DTS-MA.

If what you play it back on only supports DTS it will still play fine.

Re: Any Reason to Keep AnyDVD

I thought MakeMKV explicitly said disable AnyDVD if its running because it causes problems?

Also I have never had issues with MakeMKV being able to deal with any disk.

Re: Feature request - Closed Caption support

It was planned for the long time. Getting closer and closer, but no definite timeline yet. Bumping a very old topic. I still see support of this lacking. Mike, I know you probably have a day job so I won't press too hard but was this feature request abandoned, forgotten or just low enough priority?...

Re: Why does remuxing (w/o removing anything) change file si

I have had the same experience and am wondering the same thing! In my case I extracted a DVD with MakeMKV. I then found that I wanted to rename one of the subtitle tracks for easy identification during playback. Rather than re-rip the DVD, I used MakeMKV to open the MKV file and renamed the track i...

Lionsgate is notorious for this.

I do not think that feature has ever worked.

I have tried it to madness and back.

Same here. I thought it was required because it was nested.

I fully agree with SiliconKid.

Re: MakeMKV Blu Ray rIps failing to network drive, OK on loc

At the end MakeMKV flushes buffers - writes a lot of small chunks in random places over the file. If this is the case it might be something with the version of samba the NAS is running. Flipping out when it "writes a lot of small chunks in random places over the file". I had close to the same probl...

Re: How do you make a MakeMKV MKV file, dlna compliant?

Well I should have said its useless for what I use it for. First embedded subs is one of the main issues. I watch a lot of anime. Not about to rip the subs out of every single show when I want to watch them. Though I could make a VBScript to do this for me with mkvtoolnix. I have made VBScripts to d...

Re: Subtitles on Marvels The Avengers

How many subtitle tracks are shown for each language? If it is TWO, then one is the "forced" subtitles, the other is a complete set. There probably are NO subtitles tagged as "forced". In my collection, there is only one BD, Avatar, that actually implements forced subtitles within a larger subtitle...

Will second this. Something is funky with one of my Game of Thrones disks. Played EVERYTHING on it through my PS3 but it chokes on backing up. Disk looks perfect. Had to backup from a friends copy which went without issue.

Just some personal experience info if it helps this topic any.

I backed up After Earth and World War Z with 1.8.5 in OS X 10.9 with no issues or warnings.
