Re: The Crying Game

It's a bit late for this, but I believe it's playlist 00080.pls. Please note, when I opened this playlist in MakeMKV it incorrectly identified the track length as 1:44:24. Opening the same playlist in MKVToolnix identified the correct length of 1:52:37. The difference was MakeMKV didn't include the ...

Syncing Audio

I primarily use MakeMKV to remux my Blu-rays and occasionally use MKVtoolnix when I need to combine audio/subtitle tracks from different MKV's of the same movie (e.g. local and international Blu-ray, UHD and Blu-ray). However, there are often differences in the exact lengths of these releases that m...

Re: UHD drives

MartyMcNuts/SamuriHL, thank you for that info as it really helps. I'm basically trying to decide do I pay a bit of a premium for the "official" WH16NS60 or save a bit of money and make a choice between the "friendly" WH16NS40 or BW16D1HT. The other consideration is I just read about LibreDrives and ...

Re: UHD drives

Hi SamuriHL, Are you saying the LG WH16NS60 is faster than the WH16NS40 & BW-16D1HT? I'm trying to find out if there is substantial differences in ripping speeds with Blu-rays/UHD's between these three drives. As well, I'd like to know if any of them are quieter than the others or if they pretty muc...

Re: Change Default Naming of Tracks

Just found this thread and would love to see this feature. Currently, I have to manually change the name for every audio track as I prefer to show the codec and channel layout. For example, here is an example of the info that Makemkv shows for an audio track. Track information Type: Audio Name: Surr...

Re: UHD drives

I've just been reading this thread, and others in the forum, and have narrowed down my choices to the following three drives: -LG WH16NS40 (friendly) -ASUS BW-16D1HT (friendly) -LG WH16NS60 (official) With the correct firmware, all three are able to rip Blu-rays/UHD's. However, is there any substant...

Re: MakeMKV picks wrong LPCM codec-id

This is fixed ong ago by having a setting in a conversion profile. You can create "always LPCM" profile and specify "raw" WAV header for all LPCM data. Hi Mike. Thanks for this info. I hadn't read about conversion profiles before so this is exciting to know there are some extra settings we can cont...

Re: MakeMKV picks wrong LPCM codec-id

Hi Guys, I've spent a couple of hours today trying to track down and fix an issue where ripped Blu-rays with a 5.1 LPCM track were not playing any audio on my Oppo BDP-103D player. After some discussion with Oppo support, posting at AVSForum and online research I came across this thread. I'm using t...

Re: Help with DTS-HD

Thanks for the replies. I think I've figured it out based on the following: 1) I reopened the MKV file in makemkv and the audio track is being described as Codec: DTS-HD 2) I opened the MKV file in Handbrake and the audio track is being described as Source: DTS-HD MA. 3) I opened the MKV file in Med...

Help with DTS-HD

I've just started using MakeMKV and I'm attempting to create MKV's of my Breaking Bad Blu-Rays. I'm interested in the highest quality transfer so I'm selecting the lossless DTS-HD audio tracks. Unfortunately, when I play a resulting file on my Oppo BDP-93 Blu-Ray player (both via USB flash drive and...
