Re: Home Alone 4K UHD

I don't understand how they could be so bad I thought they were just a rebadged LG WH16 drive? I've got one as well as an LG drive, Guess it's just a case of waiting for the Asus one to fail then :( The lgs fail in a different way they don't usually slow to a crawl they will just throw random read ...

Re: Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB BN12 revision, MK ready?

I haven't bought it yet. Would LG BU40N and external USB3 enclosure be better option than this Buffalo drive? I believe they are same unit, Buffalo is just rebadged. I think LG BU40N is also official UHD BD drive so it would work with Powerdvd Ultra. he says its not a BU40N and he has one that he c...

Re: Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB BN12 revision, MK ready?

If bought now and is new stock, what is the FW version in it. Is it still BN12? I'm planning to buy EU version. Precise model is BRXL-PT6U2VB-EU. Is it ready for 4K backupping if I flash it with MK BU40N-BN12 fw (HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-BN12-0M01001-211905141415.bin) ? What if it comes with BN13 firmw...

Re: LG WH16NS40

Hi, a little late to the party, but enthusiastic none the less. I have a Product: BD-RE WH16NS40 Revision: 1.03 in a Vantec NST-536S3-BK case. It's definitely Drive platform: MT1959, and I confirmed made in 2018. I've been running it for years on MakeMkv 1.12 (Register'd and proudly paid for) but l...

Re: LG WH16NS40 MFG May 2014 has MT1959

My LGWH16NS40 manufactured May 2014, ROM VER. 1.00, has MT1959. Since it has MT1959, shouldn't it be UHD, LibreDrive flashable? If I am right in thinking this, I thought the rest of the community would also be interested in my discovery. but does makemkv say its mt1959? another person also check in...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT - Failures after update

they are just junk get a BU40N You can't generalize that. I also have an ASUS BW-16D1HT and I ripped hundreds of DVDs and BluRays, there was never a single disc which I couldn't rip (though to be fair I only posess two UHDs, but also hadn't any problems with them) Yes I can you have 1 Asus drive I ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

So I goofed... I have a LG WH16NS40. It had a 1.04 firmware on it. I downloaded the Asus firmware tool from a different forum page from makemkv, I selected the wrong firmware downgrade from the list. Instead of selecting the correct one, I selected "DE_LG_BU40N_1.00" and installed that firmware. I ...

Beware of newbies on here listing UHD friendly drives.
just saying me marty and alex were here helping far more people then he ever has and he probably used firmware or flashers made by marty or me at some point.
just saying we sell the drives here to so do consider us
