Re: Drive making funny noises

Great, that seems to have done the trick as it's reporting it as the wh16 v1.0 now, thank you! So just to clarify: 1) I should have no more issues with the sleep bug? 2) Will the drive operate any faster or have any other benefits now it's using the WH16 firmware as apposed to the WH14 I was using?...

Thanks for that, all 3 check out fine.

So can you confirm I flash it with the LG WH16NS60, UHD Official Internal 5.25 firmware please?
I have done it 100s of times
If your unsure just leave it. You have a working uhd drive

Re: Drive making funny noises

Dunno. Haven't read any 'horror stories' attributable (YMMV) to it. @jonghotti , @MartyMcNuts , @Billycar11 traffic in volumes of these affected drives. Gentlemen? Almost all drives I sell now have the sleepbug fix. I haven't seen any harm from it but it does not sound good and it is annoying to ha...

Re: Custom firmware pack with LibreDrive patches

Been there, done that. Thanks for the warnings anyway. I could have mentioned that I'm already using 3.01MK on that drive which works indeed quite good but has the sleep bug... The only fw without sleep bug is NS60 fw and on your Asus drive and that may make you unable to burn disks but that can be...

Old school it is then. You were right... absolutely can't use their winpe creator to distribute an iso. I'll see what I can do.

I have a Mac with a Superdrive, and the Blu-ray from the 4K version reads for about 20 seconds, then gets spit back out, with no errors... any idea why??

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Thank you very much for this guide, the tools and patched firmwares. I didn't think we'd ever be able to rip 4K/UHD. I've been using and had a MakeMKV license since 2016 but only registered for the forums now. I have an incoming LG WH14NS40 and Asus BW-16D1HT. Which firmware should I flash for the ...

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive

Nice. Well, we'll see what Billy says on that idea. Then we could create a "NS40 non NS50 svc code: RECOVERY" thread, link the ISO image with very simple rufus instructions to create the USB media with it, and then detail the 4 steps required to recover the drive. its for sure a good idea it just a...

Sorry just one more question... The firmware I flashed to get it back up and running, is that the latest firmware or do I need to update it now from LG? Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive

Okay, I've flashed it and I think it's worked... It's reading standard DVDs and it knows there's a blu-ray in there and identifies it but I am unable to play it with VLC Player... does that mean it worked but VLC Player doesn't support Blu-Rays or did it not work? if it sees disks it worked vlc sup...

It's on Sata yeah, but I have around 8 sata ports and it's on about number 6. So are you saying unplug ALL sata's and plug it into the first available one with no hard drives plugged in?
hdds should not matter just swap it from 6 to 1 and see if dos flash sees it then
