If I buy a key, will it still work if I change from win 7 to linux mint. during purchase, it asked for my OS, is that just for Mike's info. Been using MKV several years and it's easily worth the $50. Thanks for making it free also!

You should offer the product for $35 while in Beta testing. And let people know the price will be $50 when released and there are no more free codes.
