Re: Transfering license to new pc

On the old PC, open MakeMKV & access Help > Register. Highlight/copy the key, paste it in a text file & make it available to the new PC.

On the new PC, open MakeMKV & access Help > Register. Paste the key. Restart MakeMKV.

Re: Right drive&SVC "no disc inserted" ERROR

Hello: I got the LG WH16NS40 with SVC-NS50 and firmware 103 and all I get with UHD discs is "No Disc Inserted" in MakeMKV. It signals that the disc is loading and then changes to NO disc. So I am stuck any ideas. The player and MakeMKV work fine with normal bluerays. However It does say with the no...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

I really like using MPC-BE, but it doesn't seem as though MPC-BE allows the HDMI out to send a signal the TV interprets as 1080p/24fps. It would be nice if there was some form of app that did allow this 1080p/24fps signal to be output to the TV via the HDMI signal. I use Shark007 std codecs along w...

Same here. For as long as I've used MakeMKV, I can't recall not being prompted with the option to uninstall the old version.

Re: Potter 8 movie collection. 2nd disc volume key unknown

Unfortunately you just have to keep an eye on the hashed keys post and manually watch for an update. I wish he would post new posts for each update so people could subscribe and get emailed when he did but alas that is not the case and there isn't really a way to get notifications on it that I have...

Re: Questions about my Pioneer BDR-211 drive

Even with this new LibreDrive thing that everyone is talking about? That's a bummer. I'm not getting a 4K TV right away so it was more just to have it anyways, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. My understanding is that "... this new LibreDrive thing" is a work in progress. Support for various...

Re: UHD drives

Thank YOU, d00zah! RE: hashed keys...I told you I was confused! 1) I didn't expect a response that quick. 2) I didn't expect it to be THAT easy! I followed the link you gave, followed the instructions, downloaded the files, easily rolled back the FW on my WH16NS40 to v.1.02, then rolled back the FW...

Re: UHD drives

All, Older and very confused as to what I need to do, so please be gentle. I have an LG16NS40 v1.03 and an LG16NS60 v1.01. Can anyone point me to a page with instructions on how to either 1) downgrade the FW for either player or 2) cross-flash either player so that one or both of these drives will ...

Re: NOOB question

Welcome! You're current drive is as good as it's likely to get. That said, recommended drives for UHD compatibility are listed here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=16832#p58519 'Friendly' drives (with correct FW) are currently supported. Recent reports indicate 'official' drive s...

Re: Help an idiot with a 1st gen WH14NS40

Is there a link to the LG firmware version it tells you is a checksum error? I can use my FirmwareExtractor2 program and extract it and patch it for DE and you can try flashing that with the patched Windows flasher before you go all dosflash on its ass. Dosflash is inherently dangerous and more lik...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

Yep, that gives the same "CheckSum is mismatched. Drive will go to BOOT mode. Please retry again." error. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Well, if it were me, I'd fall back to the 'old fashioned' dosflash dump, use datamover to apply cal data to clean image, dosflash... just the thing Billy, Alex & Marty specialize in. ...
