Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

d00zah, I have some interesting updates for you. First, I had to give up on trying to get MPC-BE and MadVR to display at 24 frames per second. I entered the resolutions of "1920x1080p24" and "1920x1080p23" but nothing would work. In Settings, Windows 10 would have the Desktop resolution at 1600x900,...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

Hi, d00zah. I have some updates. I was able to download the Shark 007 codecs. I literally have to say I would not have been able to do so if you had not given such good instructions. That one website is nothing but a maze of advertisements. Unfortunately, the Shark 007 and MadVR additions did not ch...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

Thank you, d00zah. This would explain why the movie Event Horizon could be played on MPC-BE in Dolby True HD without any audio dropouts - it uses Dolby TrueHD, but not Dolby Atmos. This would also explain why the movies such as Creed 2, The Nun, and Total Recall from 2012 had audio dropouts - they u...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

d00zah, I just thought I would mention this to you because it seems to have more to do with Dolby TrueHD than it does any one particular player. I turned the 2012 version of Total Recall into a MakeMKV. I tried watching the 2012 version of Total Recall with MPC-BE. Dolby TrueHD 5.1 is the default au...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

d00zah, I was able to get MadVR installed and set up so it appears in MPC-BE. ... However, I'm still having trouble with Shark 007 because of all those advertisements on that page. Any help with Shark 007 would be appreciated.

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

Hi, d00zah. Thank you for the advice. I am trying to download the Shark007 via the link you placed here. ... The problem is, I have no idea how. The entire website for Shark 007 is a group of advertisements - all of them say things such as "Download Here" and "Start Process Here" but they are nothin...

Re: Dolby True HD problems with Creed 2 and The Nun

Hi Grauhaar, Thank you for taking the time to write back and help. ... I should clarify a couple things. 1. When I mentioned that I was only using "two speakers" I was referring to when the 7.1 Dolby True HD was being watched directly on my laptop on the laptop screen. The only two speakers on the l...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

d00zah, I think you are correct that the problem may be with MPC-BE. ... In the past this was difficult to confirm because no other players I have can play MKV files. However, today I downloaded VLC just to see what would happen. VLC "plays" MKV files and they look "choppy," so that is why I didn't ...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

d00zah, it sounds like you know what you are talking about regarding technical things. I have another question for you. I recently ripped Creed 2 using MakeMKV. ... While watching Creed 2 on Blu-ray, the Dolby TrueHD sound was fine. ... And when I listened to the Dolby True HD on the two speakers of...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

Thank you. ... I am not sure what "MadVR" is. ... What will MadVR do to MPC-BE that will change MPC-BE in a way that causes MPC-BE to start outputting video at 24fps? ... The way things are now (apparently without MadVR) the HDMI Out on my laptop always sends a signal that the A/V Receiver displays ...

Dolby True HD problems with Creed 2 and The Nun

Several months ago, I watched The Nun on Blu-ray. The Dolby True HD audio did not have any audio problems while watching the Blu-ray. I ripped the Blu-ray using MakeMKV. Then, while watching the MKV version on my TV with the HDMI Out from the laptop computer, there were several spots where the Dolby...

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps

Thank you for the suggestions. I did as you recommended and changed the settings you instructed. But, none of those changed the framerate of the HDMI out from MPC-BE to 24fps.

Audio Problems with Bee Gees One Night Only Blu-ray

I own a Blu-ray called the Bee Gees One Night Only. It is a very nice Blu-ray that has the concert of some great songs by the Bee Gees. When I watch the Blu-ray in a Blu-ray player, it says the following formats are available in the "Audio" menu: * LPCM 48hz 7.1 * DTS-MA 96hz 5.1 However, when MakeM...

Is Handbrake not compatible with Passthrough of TrueHD?

I recently converted two movies from Blu-ray to MKV. Those movies were Event Horizon and Batman Returns. Both of those movies use 24-bit Dolby TrueHD. Both of them turned out fine in their MKV format. However, when I used Handbrake, I selected "Auto Passthrough." I thought the audio would be identic...

Why is MKV Toolnix not showing "24-Bit" for Dolby TrueHD in Batman Returns

I recently decided to convert the movie Batman Returns from Blu-ray to MKV. Things turned out fine. When you click on "Properties" in MPC-BE, you see the specifications for all the sound formats. For Dolby TrueHD, it clearly shows the sound is "24-Bit" and has a rate of "6912kb/s". The problem is th...
