Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

I use an LG external Blu-ray drive. It says the "hardware" has LibreDrive, not not the firmware. Is that the way it is supposed to be? I noticed that normally the original files that are supposed to be copied are track 800. ... But I tried a movie called Night At the Museum 3 and it said track 800 i...

Re: Casablanca - Source File Name - 101 or 100?

Grauhaar, When I compared the two Segment Maps shown in the right windows on the bottom, they were identical. ... In comparison, there was once a movie called "Winchester" that had dozens of different versions of the movie - each with different Segment maps. And I know it played them in different or...

Casablanca - Source File Name - 101 or 100?

I recently decided to back up Casablanca on Blu-ray. There are two versions that are the exact same length available to rip from the Blu-ray. One says: Source file name: 00100.mpls The other says Source file name: 00101.mpls Is there a difference? I know other people have pointed out that some movie...

Lincoln - Blu-ray - Possible BD+ and/or SVQ Problem

I have attempted to backup a total of three different copies of the Blu-ray movie called "Abraham."

None of the discs copy properly. It appears this Blu-ray disc may have the type of problem referred to as "BD+ and/or SVQ".

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

Why is USB 3.0 4-port hub so much faster than direct connection from laptop to external hard drive?

QUESTION: Why is my USB 3.0 4-port hub so much faster than the direct connection from the USB 3.0 port of the laptop to the 8GB external hard drive? When I use a direct connection between my laptop computer, which has a 750GB 5400rpm hard drive, and my 8GB WD easystore external hard drive, the trans...

Re: Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

d00zah, Thank you for providing those two links regarding "extraction." The problem is that I am not familiar with how to enter "Tags" and "Codes" such as the ones listed for the MKVtoolnix GUI program. This makes the first link useless. Do you know of a way to personally explain which buttons to cl...

Re: Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

QUESTION: Can someone please explain how to properly use the MKVtoolnix GUI "Extract" feature for the subtitles?

If possible, can you please do this in a step by step way.

Thank you.

Re: Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

woodstock, Thank you for those suggestions. I considered those; however, those won't work for me. These are the reasons why: 1. I really don't like the idea of using Handbrake, because even on its highest level of quality the Handbrake software does not offer "lossless" video conversion the way Make...

Re: Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

ANOTHER QUESTION: Is there anything that can be entered as a "Tag" in MKVtoolnix GUI that will make it so a subtitle truly becomes "Forced"? I guess I simply don't understand "why" changing an item to be "Forced" in MKVtoolnix GUI to the point that it is identified as "Default" and "Forced" by the M...

Re: Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

Thank you for responding. Do you have a link to download the software program you are referring to from a safe spot? Also, once you have saved the new subtitle file with this tool you are referring to, is it MKV Toonix GUI that is used to put this new file back into the movie? ... I simply don't kno...

Forced Subtitles from Captain America 2 & 3 - Won't Work Properly

I always prefer "embedded" subtitles, because then I don't need to worry about whether or not the subtitles are seen. There are other blu-ray movies that online databases refer to as "Forced" and "Separate." For example, according to this online database, Captain America 1 contains a "Forced" subtit...

Re: MacGruber - Which Version?

I have now learned the shorter version is actually a larger file and it is the "Theatrical" version. The longer version is actually a shorter file and is an "Extended" version. It was confusing to me that the "longer" version was actually a smaller file.

MacGruber - Which Version?

I am trying to figure out which version of MacGruber is the correct one to download from the Blu-ray. Rebecca is having problems with Mono sounds on Blu-ray. ... I will explain. Originally, I had purchased Rebecca on DVD. The video and the Mono audio could be heard fine on my computer. Re: Overboard (2018)

With normal Java installs, you can leave the location blank, and MakeMKV will find it. As long as the custom location points to a working copy of java.exe, the logs should show that it found when needed. If the JRE is set up properly, AND you insert a Blu-Ray disk with "fake playlist protection" (i...
