A/V Sync Issues are very real in TV Shows and Movies
I purchased the Twilight Zone Boxed Set of Blu-rays over the summer. Unfortunately, two of the discs had video problems and could not be ripped perfectly without errors that were identified with numbers. For six months, I tried contacting Paramount and I was never responded to. So, I gave up and dec...

Audio "Delay Relative to Video" in MKV with Handbrake - What Causes it? How to Fix It?
Whenever I rip Blu-ray movies I own to MKV videos using MakeMKV, things are fine. And when I use Handbrake to compress the ripped MKV files to mp4, things are fine. However, whenever I compress the original MKV files into other MKV files, the "Properties" and "Media Info" in Players such as MPC-BE a...

Re: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
I rented from Netflix and I was disappointed that 261 was not an option that was available. So, I simply selected the "Main Feature" from Java. I ripped the movie, because I did not have time to watch it at the time. Unfortunately, when I went to watch the movie a couple weeks later, it was very obv...

How to Contact Paramount - Paramount does NOT Reply to Emails
QUESTION: Does anyone know how to contact Paramount regarding a defective Blu-ray? I purchased the boxed set of The Twilight Zone on Blu-ray about a year ago. Obviously it takes time to watch five years worth of episodes. I have now found two Blu-ray discs that have problems. They clearly are defect...

Re: 3D MKV Solution Apparently Found - But Not Sure Why
Thank you for your great post! Please could you tell me what type of graphic card are you using to play 3D MKVs ? Is it integrated in the CPU? Type of CPU? Or is it an GeForce? Which one? Please be as much exact as you can. Thank you again. Regards M. Hrncir I'm glad this helped you. One thing I fo...

Re: 3D MKV Solution Apparently Found - But Not Sure Why
ADDITIONAL INFO (HOW TO USE MPC-BE TO PLAY MVC MKV 3D MOVIES): I now know of a way to modify MPC-BE to play 3D MVC MKV movies, as well. I will explain how to do this here, and explain "how" I found out how to do this. This means I now know of two reliable PC players - MBC-BE and MPC-HC - that allow ...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
When I use MPC-HC with madVR to play 3D MVC MKV files, it is seen as a Side-by-Side image on the laptop and on the HDTV screen until I "Manually" select "Side-by-Side" on the HDTV. Then, it becomes a unified 3D image. When this method is used with MPC-HC and madVR, does the resolution remain as hig...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
3D Blu-rays are not encoded SBS or Top Bottom, they are encoded as frame-packed. QUESTION: Above, you previously said that "3D Blu-rays are not encoded Side-by-Side or Top Bottom, they are encoded as frame-packed." When I use MPC-HC with madVR to play 3D MVC MKV files, it is seen as a Side-by-Side ...

Re: 3D MKV Solution Apparently Found - But Not Sure Why
These are really questions for the makers of the playback software, not for MakeMKV. Short answer: playback software simply doesn’t support 3D MKVs. And yes, you do need a certain amount of processing power - and compatible Windows version, graphics card, and viewing device - for MPC/madVR playback...

3D MKV Solution Apparently Found - But Not Sure Why
MAIN SUBJECT: I have found that using MPC-HC with MadVR allows your Windows 10 PC to display a Side-by-Side 3D Image whenever it sees a MVC MKV 3D Blu-ray that has been ripped. You simply right-click, and then select "Options." Then, under "Playback" go to "Output." Then, under "DirectShow Video" se...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
Short answer, yes, MakeMKV works properly with 3D Blu-rays. It copies the data exactly as it is on the disc into the MKV container. What you do with the MKV afterwards for playback will depend on the requirements and capabilities of your playback software and hardware. 3D Blu-rays are not encoded S...

Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
QUESTION: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays? I have tried to do some research online before giving this a try. Based on what I have read online, it sounds like there is a difference between the Side-by-Side 3D Format and the Top-Bottom 3D Format in terms of whether or not they can be played back ...

Twilight Zone Boxed Set - Season 1 Problems
I recently purchased the Twilight Zone Boxed Set of Blu-ray discs. This includes every episode of all five seasons. Many (but not all) of the episodes have a radio commentary broadcast version of the episode. You can easily select this option when it is available for that particular episode while wa...

Why are Blu-ray 2:35:1 when they should be 16:9? - There's Proof
I recently watched The Maze Runner trilogy of movies on Blu-ray. I then watched The Maze Runner movies on Comcast. It was very obvious to me that the Comcast versions that filled the HDTV screen with 16:9 Widescreen were showing me things that were NOT seen in the 2:35:1 Ultra Widescreen version on ...
