I don't see anything listed as Atmos - most I see is True HD 7.1 and DD Plus Surround 7.1
Select the 7.1 track and look at the right window. In the Info section you will see the codec which probably will be Atmos.

Re: Makemkv (linux) exit with Movie "Searching"

I've had this happen in several discs, and it's always caused by Java crashing. Try disabling Java. An easy way do to this is: sudo mv /usr/bin/java /usr/bin/java.disabled (You may need to find where the Java executable is on your system, the above example is on Linux Mint) Then try to run MakeMKV o...

Re: Cannot open Bohemian Rhapsody UHD

I just got home from work with my new copy of BR UHD, and it opened and is ripping fine. That was a quick update :D Does not rip for me tonight using the latest version of MakeMKV (1.14.2) and connected to the internet. My copy was purchased from Amazon; where was yours? Regardless, dump file has b...

I was getting the extremely slow rips, and found that if I unselected the CC track that the rips returned to normal speed.

Re: File output capped at 5580.5 MB

Let me guess, the drive you are writing to is formatted FAT? You need to reformat it to NTFS or exFAT (or if using linux EXT4).

A FAT filesystem limits filesize to 4GB.

Re: Venom playlist

I've seen this error before, it's usually Java crashing. I've worked around it (on Linux Mint) by temporarily renaming the java executable. Try

Code: Select all

sudo mv /usr/bin/java /usr/bin/java.save
and then rip. Once done don't forget to

Code: Select all

sudo mv /usr/bin/java.save /usr/bin/java

Re: Bluray - hearing impairment commentary frustrations

Thanks - helpful. I wasnt intending to Handbrake transcode to MP4 as happy with the quality of MKV - or do you keep your files in MKV and just use Handbrake for the edit you mention? Cheers Instead of using Handbrake you can use MKVToolNix to remove un-wanted audio tracks and subs. Only takes a few...

Re: UHD standard mainstream?

And don't forget the camp who contend that all physical (optical) media is headed 'the way of the dodo', in favor of streamed media. People have many opinions... :) And sadly the powers that make these kinds of decisions don't live somewhere like I do where streaming over the internet is impossible...

Re: Unable to execute external program 'ccextractor' on V1.14.1

My bad, I didn't search first...

But a comment, either there needs to be info about how to install ccextractor on linux, or the option should be disabled by default (or not cause a rip failure) if ccextractor is not installed.

Unable to execute external program 'ccextractor' on V1.14.1

I get this error now when trying to rip a DVD: Unable to execute external program 'ccextractor' as its path is not set in preferences Failed to execute external program 'ccextractor' from location '/usr/bin/mmccextr' If I unselect: Subtitles CC=>Text I can rip. This is the linux version, so where do...

Re: UHD rips error out part-way through

I find it very hard to believe that all of these discs have a defect or are dirty at the same point in the disc. Why is it hard to believe that at the layer switch the read starts failing? I've gotten into the habit to clean every new disc before attempting to rip. I've only run into one disc that ...

Re: "Subtitles"

This is what is working for me. I select all of the English (language of your choice of course!) Forced Tracks. You then need to actually set the track to forced in the MKV: forced-settings.jpg MakeMKV always seems to show the forced subs, even if there are none on that track, don't worry it's OK as...
