Re: "LibreDrive compatible drive is required..." but this IS a LibreDrive enabled drive

Thanks all. A simple restart fixed the issue, and I apologise that I didn't ensure he did this first.

"LibreDrive compatible drive is required..." [solved]

Someone I know is having this issue: "LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted. Backup failed" But as you can see from the screenshot, the drive is LibreDrive enabled. The next disc he tried, he got: "The volume key is unknown for this disc ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Not at all. That last post could be very helpful indeed. If Passkey will work - that's fine. I did flash the BU40N to the MK 1.03 first, and then to 1.00. That allowed me to rip 4K discs. If I can crossflash to BU10 and make it PassKey compatible, that would be ideal. 1.00 works with dvdfab no need...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Thanks. That's what I thought. The problem is that the cases I use (for work) can only take slim drives. And even that is a step-up from only being able to use slot-loading drives which had been the case so far. I do use external full size drives out of necessity, but a one-box solution is much mor...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

I take it there is no current way to flash a SLIM official drive to a friendly one? What model and what firmware? Hi Marty Thanks for the response! I have a couple of external LG BP60NB10 drives with ROM ver 1.00. I've managed to use the MK firmware on these. However I would like to be able to use ...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

On page 1, Mike mentioned a newer tool was under production that would be easier to use. Did that ever transpire?

I have one Asus and one LG drive that have too-new firmware :(

Re: Hitachi BD drive cannot rip

It was the other way around. We installed DVDFab out of desperation when MakeMKV did not work. Before that we tried everything we could; we then (reluctantly) installed DVDFab, and now it works.

Re: Hitachi BD drive cannot rip

Thanks for the response. In the thread you linked to, it seemed that BitDefender was the culprit. We only use the standard Microsoft Defender anti-virus, not BitDefender. We'll try making an exception for MakeMKV, and then disabling altogether to see if that works. Somehow, though, running DVDFab ke...

Hitachi BD drive cannot rip

I recently bought a Hitachi A40N drive, which I think may be a rebranded LG CA40N drive, since the names are similar and both are slot-loading. Unfortunately, the decryption component of MakeMKV doesn't appear to work with this drive and produces arrors (see attached files). When I install some exte...
