Re: Pioneer BDR-2209 experiences?

Yep the Pioneer BDR-2209 won’t be able to read 4K UHD discs. It was mentioned in another thread that Pioneer Optical Drives doesn’t work with 4K UHD. You’ll need either the Asus BW-16D1HT drive or the LG WH16NS40 with the correct firmware. As for general experience on the Pioneer BDR-2209, works gre...

Re: mac 1.14.1 problems

Tried MKV 1.14.1 on my Mac OSX and works fine in ripping Blu-Rays and DVDs. I’m using a Pioneer BDR-2209 UBK and Pioneer BDR-207dbk and works well with MakeMKV the past 5+ years.

@vonMalm Not sure if this is the solution, try cleaning the disc by wiping it with a micro-fiber lens cleaner cloth and hope it works.

Re: UHD drives

I admit I am trying to figure this all out as I have only a laptop which means I need to connect via USB. As my laptop handles usb3, what is the best items to get in the internal BD drive and what is the ideal enclosure that is known to work? (Obviously, I prefer an external BD player but is there ...

Sorry to hear that the shipping cost was expensive. I was assuming the cost to ship to Germany would be acceptable. Hope you would be able to find alternate solutions.

Re: Looking for ready-to-use Asus BW-16D1HT or flash-service

Hi! I'm all new to the whole topic of accessing movies on Bluray discs. I was looking into copying one of my favorite UHD movies from disc onto my PC, however sadly I've stumbled into issues left and right :P (I know I know, you've had this so often already). I got myself a Asus BW-16D1HT from Amaz...

Re: Will Pioneer BDR-XD07J-UHD work on mac?

Does anyone know if this drive will work on my 2016 macbook pro (2.7ghz core i7, 16gb ram). People in reviews tend to say it works on mac, but the official pioneer site only talks about Windows. Thanks in advance. There’s a possibility the Pioneer BDR-XD07J-UHD will work in a Mac OSX for playing/ri...

Re: Error Ripping Blu-Rays

No other ideas? Hi. Maybe you can try the options below and hope they fixed the problem. • Try a different older version of MakeMKV • If you can borrow a different optical drive or different computer to check • Clean the blu-ray disc I encountered this same problem once, I reverted to an older vers...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1H, lots of chat on this but very little help

Hi Eric.barns. There’s a thread by TeddyRaspin who was kind enough to share some detailed tips on downgrading the firmware in UHD Friendly drives here https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17058 There’s also an important note by Mike, to be very careful in performing the firmware downg...
