I don't have an answer to either question, but I can say "me too". I don't know if it's been suggested before, but I don't see why the episode naming suggestion couldn't be baked into MakeMKV or some other standalone utility. I follow this recipe manually today, which is kind of a clerical...

Re-iterating what has collectively been said by others, I don't get a value for {NAME1} in the template by default. But if I modify the "Name" field in the GUI in any way, then {NAME1} does show up in the filenames. This seems like it's probably some simple bug. Now that I know the trick, ...

I've been looking for that "manual mode" and don't see either of the things you mentioned. I'm on 1.12.3. Has it been removed?
