Re: My poor ancient HD-DVD/BD Combo!
These drives have different PCB layout and optical pickups (LG uses Hitachi-made pickup, while Pioneer uses its own pickup). Even if both drives theoretically could be "crossflashed", the amount of work necessary in order to make the drive firmware work properly with different optical head and other...

Re: Pioneer BDR-212UBK - Great Drive for Every Disk! Too Bad It Isn't UHD Friendly!
All BDR-212/S12 models use same hardware platform. One possible exception could be for BDR-212BK/212DBK drives which don't support BDXL media. Note that European/Taiwanese BDR-212EBK doesn't support UHD, it has the same firmware as American BDR-212ULBK (sold as BDR-2212). The equivalent of American ...

Re: My mistake, Asus BD-16D1H-U Pro
Sorry, I haven't looked at the forum for a few days and have only just seen your question. Yes. I certainly can connect it to a Windows machine. Via USB only though as I only have access to a Windows laptop running Windows 10 or an iMac running Windows 7 Pro. More then happy to try and help you out...

Re: Pioneer BDR-S12UHT
If somebody else will get this drive, please contact me, I need to dump some binary data from this drive to add its support to a Pioneer drive flasher I'm working on. Thanks in advance!

Re: My mistake, Asus BD-16D1H-U Pro
Revision: E114
Serial number: xxxxx
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8601
Firmware version: ID71 It's a BDR-209MBK in ASUS enclosure. It has the same hardware as BDR-211MBK (supporting UHD), but the firmware compatibility is untested yet. Is it possible for you to connect the drive to a Windows machine...

Re: Pioneer BDR-S12UHT
AFAIK, Pioneer drives don't (yet?) support this feature.
By the way, I'm working on a Pioneer flashing tool (currently called "DVRTool") and want to support these S12/212 series, too. Please contact me, if you have already bought this drive.

Re: Can it work Blue Ray Drive BDDVDRW CH30N
CH30N is an OEM-version of CH12NS30/UH12NS30 - these drives are capable of reading BDXL media, but don't support UHD BD.
Consider it a BD-combo counterpart of old BH16NS40/WH16NS40 drive lineup.

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"
Mike, thank you very much for that info! Awesome as always! "Sincere thanks to everyone who shared the firmwares dumped from their own drives - without your help it wouldn't be possible to collect all these firmwares!" That's right, some of these firmwares were dumped from drives and cleaned by me. ...
