Re: Requiem for a Dream UHD - Errors
Since everyone's mentioning the NA version, I just wanted to confirm that the UK disc looks the same, that is tons of playlists, most fake, pointing to garbled footage or using incorrect order of the segments. That said, I've watched those segments and can confirm that playlist 832 (the one with seg...

Re: Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet
It is done. GoT_rip.png Credit goes to everyone here who recommended the LG BU40N drive. It had zero "real" issues (such as read errors) and only 2-3 issues where the disc couldn't be mounted and it said "no disc", but reconnecting the drive helped in those cases. This drive is miraculous. I don't h...

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"
It's been more than 1.5 years since I started this thread. Meanwhile, I bought another new drive, the LG BU40N which is indeed fantastic, as everyone here says, yet even it wouldn't read those two 3-layered discs, that is - the two copies of "Catching Fire" I bought back then. Recently Zavvi had a l...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Can someone recommend or confirm what kind of cable I could use to connect a slim/laptop drive to a PC via USB (mini SATA -> USB)? I bought an LG BU40N recently, don't have a laptop, was hoping that one of the two "approved" Unitek cables would work, but they have the full large SATA connectors. I n...

Re: Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet
I found that flashing had no impact at all. What "usually" worked for me was inserting a different media type and allowing the drive to scan it. That also "usually" works for me, but right now today I just had another "incident" and this time the drive wouldn't even read a standard Blu-ray disc. Fl...

Re: Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet
Did you try to re-flash the drive's firmware and also fully shutdown and restart your PC (full cold power-down reboot, not just Windows' "restart")?

Re: Are AV synchronization issues a problem?
I can disprove your claim because I had the same issue when ripping the movie "Onward" (UHD) and not selecting any subtitles whatsoever. The issue still occurred and one of those sync issues caused an audible pop. Of course it could be different for each movie, but at least in my case with that movi...

Re: Warning message about DVDFab
I just bought a new set (still in plastic) dvd set of Simon & Simon I think by Shout Factory and it gives this waring also. Are you 100% certain it's legit? I bought a DVD set from a show released by Shout Factory, brand new in shrink wrap, saw this warning, didn't think much of it until I noticed ...

Re: Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet
FWIW, my ASUS drive is a zombie too. It stops reading all UHD discs sometimes, but I can always bring it back to life either by re-flashing the firmware (even if I flash the same version it's already on) or by putting a non-UHD disc into it, taking it out and then inserting the UHD disc, or by compl...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
Does anyone here who reported issues with any of those 3 discs also own an "official" UHD drive? If so, have you tested it there? I'm just curious if this is a general issue with all UHD-friendly drives or a general issue with some lower quality discs... and yes, I understand that a regular Blu-ray ...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
I can also confirm a pop on Disney's 4K release of the "Onward" movie. It has 7 sync issues: AV sync issue in stream 1 at 0:03:18.240 with duration of 1.666ms : 2 frame(s) dropped to reduce audio skew to -0.019ms AV sync issue in stream 1 at 0:08:14.327 with duration of 1.666ms : 2 frame(s) dropped ...
