Re: State of the art 4k movies from a technical view

Thank you, I looked at the trailers of your recommendations and I am sorry, this is not what I am looking for and I am not talking of the quality of the movie itself. I gave Planet Earth II a chance. For my taste a little bit too much animals. I saw fantastic movies of Pamir mountains, would be grea...

That's exactly what I am looking for, thanks Phil. Any further suggestions are welcome!

Re: State of the art 4k movies from a technical view

In the meantime I found "The Fourth Phase" (snowboard movie), not state of the art from a technical view, 23.9fps only, but maybe someone knows similar movies in 4k. It is not so artificial like the "blockbusters", there is a lot of nature in the movie. Does anyone know if "...

Re: All 4K Releases Spreadsheet

My thanks too!

Could please explain a little bit what "reference" and "standout" means. Am I right, that reference is "better" than "standout". But which criteria are used for "reference"? How much is personal taste included?

Re: State of the art 4k movies from a technical view

Thank you all, I checked a lot of movies, seems hard to find a movie, which is not outsold, with natural scenes / landscapes. IMHO blurred fantasy scenes are not able to show the quality of a tv. Blade Runner is on my candidate list as well as Braveheart and Ghostbusters, but not happy with them 100...

State of the art 4k movies from a technical view

Maybe such a list exists already. I am looking for UHD / 4k movies which show the best technical quality (video and audio) at the moment. I know there is https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22992#p95280, not sure what reference means, maybe this is what could be a filter for me. N...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

Are there any silent / automatic / forced updates known using Windows? Windows makes updates if you want or not, can the dirve be updated with firmware automatically and you don't notice it as user?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

I think, this looks good, no need for admin rights when flashing: Laufwerksinformation OS-Gerätename: /dev/sr0 Aktuelles Profil: BD-ROM Produzent: ASUS Produkt: BW-16D1HT Revision: 3.10 Firmware-Datum: 2119-01-04 10:14 Markierungen der Bus-Verschlüsselung: 1F Highest AACS version: 60 LibreDrive Info...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

You MIGHT need to 'right-click' on the MakeMKV icon & select "Run as administrator" I want to clarify, I want to flash the drive with the Windows pc, but I do not want to do backups with Windows. So SDFtool Flasher is a GUI which uses Makemkv? How can I run SDFtool Flasher with admin ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 Check the "enc?" checkbox only if your drive has an encrypted firmware on it (see list of encrypted firmware below). So Asus drives have no encrypted firmware? Edit: Sorry for my detailed questions, it is not so easy for me to tr...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

> If Windows detects the drive, you are good to go Hmm, at least for me, who is not so experienced with Windows, it can be confusing. The drive was recognized by the device manager (hopefully translated correctly into English), but was not shown in the file manager. After a few restarts it took a wh...
