Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is the red tint and FEL support such a big problem? Is it a problem for general watching? I'm pretty content and happy with my Shield, otherwise. Well if you don't really care about color accuracy and having the best image possible, then no it's not a big issue. IMO, I don't spend thousands of doll...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have a few more questions: -what is the usb port on the x700? Is it usb 3.0? For high bitrate movies, is there any problem (e.g. stuttering, freezing) playing the dolby vision m2ts file straight from the external hdd connected to the x700? Gemini Man in 4k 60fps dolby vision is an example. That f...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Don't know about the Sonys, but the Oppos are player led Dolby Visions I think? HDTV Test ran a comparison and there was a noticeable difference between the internal Bravia player and the Oppo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_a77zJTrO4 oppo and sony support both modes. tv-led and player-led with y...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Sorry I don't really understand this part... Say a movie is hdr10 only, why don't you play the m2ts file using the x700 but a htpc instead? Because I would have to turn off Dolby vision every time I want to watch HDR10/SDR content . otherwise, with DV turned on it would be in fake DV. Anyway, even ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is it really cinavia free? Even my old BDP-S6700 has it. And I heard (a long time ago though that) sony is the only studio to use cinavia protection on its discs. I don't know about burned bluray disc playback but via USB file playback, yes it is cinavia free. bought mine 3 years ago and never upda...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is it still required to manually change the output mode to DV or has that been changed in any recent update? If you use the x700 for HDR10 content as well, then yes you have to turn off DV otherwise this player applies fake DV to any TS or M2TS file (even bluray discs). Then how do I know if the ts...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is it known why tsMuxer has to be used to remux the m2ts file from the disc again to m2ts? Is the m2ts files on the discs wrong in some way? Is it still required to manually change the output mode to DV or has that been changed in any recent update? The DV flags are somewhere else for a uhd-bd stru...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
yep, the x700 can output any lossless audio format + Dolby Vision FEL. Subtitles also work. Cinavia free as welldeadchip12 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 3:34 pmAh yeah I saw your signature![]()
What is you audio setup? Dolby atmos? Is the x700 able to output dolby atmos to the receiver while playing m2ts dolby vision files?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is the x700 able to play dolby vision m2ts file directly? Thinking of investing in a bluray player instead of relying on the oled's internal player. Yes Really? Since the x700 is relatively cheap, maybe people should just buy it and play the dolby vision m2ts files from it instead of going through ...

Can you please recheck Shield TV on MIF bath fight scene with capture card? https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/6913 Is it me or there is some noticable improvement with 8.2.2 update? Can't spot red blocking while playing mkv via plex. DV triggered Maybe I just missed this very frame. Meanw...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Possibly better processing, dithering by the Dolby Vision engine regardless of EL. we found out what happened, he misnamed the capture of the p4 dual layer sample from lexy to p8. sorry here's the real P8 SL vs HDR10 source: https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/10306 so the artifacts are the...
