Re: Time to rip 4K

Hi Guys,

I posted this a while ago now. It appears it was a faulty disk which I had replaced.

I have actually just finished ripping my entire library of 194 4K films just yesterday. A 90GB disk takes around 50 minutes.

Thanks for your replies :)

Beta key

Is there a new beta key available as the current one has run out and keeps popping up?

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

Will this run it?
CPU: i7-8750H @ 2.2GHz
GFX: RTX 2060
RAM: 32GB

I've set the Blu-Ray to super-high luminance as the guy from that video suggested to me in an email.

I just run it with the backup from MakeMKV do I? If so and you think this will run it I might give it a go to see what it's all about!

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

I get it! For me though I'm more than sure my laptop could handle it but I prefer the ease of storing it on the Plex server and running it, I don't want to be getting the PC out to be watching a movie. I mean is it really that much better? Regarding the max nits though, I have a Q9FN ISF calibrated ...

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

MadVR looks like a video enhancer just for when playing movies on or through the PC, it wouldn't work with streaming videos from my Plex server... right?

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

Please don't be sorry at all, I really appreciate all the help you have given me! Moving on then, I want digital sound over Dolby Vision so the MP4 is not an option. Also backing up to an ISO is not an option because I can't play that with Plex. So it looks like my backup plan will simple be with Ma...

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

Yeah I forgot it couldn't be played and it's just for the future...

However, I've just finished backing up 800 and it's not there :(

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it

Okay I'll give this another go...

It's backing up 800 now and I can see in CopyBD where it says 800, but what I don't see/get is where in CopyBD it says 800 is the one with the Dolby Vision data?

If this backup works and I can figure that out i've cracked it!
