Re: steps to reflash?

Custom boot mark invalid DEBUG: Code 4279570437 at @\q<.gXW<W7.p( dvLvFxo6VrqDHKd)I:29395701 Command produced error code 0x8f151005 Sigh. This is called a bug. I've updated the sdf.bin, also the instructions were somewhat incorrect and incomplete. Updated instructions: Steps: 0. make sure you have ...

Re: an offtopic question - physical data location on the disc

Thanks for the link, should have thought about this one... That is also the root cause of many issues at the layer break with cheap discs and bad burning strategies. Especially LG burners are bad. Layer break is a source of all sorts of bugs on LG drives, that's for sure. The reason I asked the ques...

an offtopic question - physical data location on the disc

Hi everyone. This is a call for help - hopefully someone, who knows a thing or two about optical media could help me. It turned out that I know very little about the topic, and I don't have a time machine to go back and ask on cdfreaks forum :) So, if anyone can answer the following question, or kno...

Could this also work for old NS40 drives that have been flashed to newer NS50 firmware?

Re: steps to reflash?

Steps: 0. make sure you have the latest SDF.bin 1. select the "right" firmware to flash (like DE_LG BU40N_1.00.bin). 2. confirm that this is a "silent flash" failure - try flashing it, sdftool should report "OK", but the FW stays the same 3. Learn the "boot ID" of the "right" firmware - open the FW ...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support

Does MakeMKV 15.2 now do the finalised mkv DV spec or do we need to wait for a new version - just wondering if I should process my movies now or wait for the next version. It does, when using BD source (or backup). Main limitation of 1.15.2 - it can't open MKV files with DV and can't repair MKV fil...

Re: 1.15.2 fails at startup with - undefined symbol DriveIoQueryAdd

I've been building makemkv for quite some time now, but as of 1.15.2, I get the error: /usr/bin/makemkvcon: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/makemkvcon: undefined symbol: DriveIoQueryAdd This causes a Fatal error and the program ends. This means that you are using an old version of OSS package, not th...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2

1.15.2 removed the "legacy" MKV 3D descriptors , that was a mistake. Next version 1.15.3 will put them back. Any version (except 1.15.2) can rebuild these descriptors - so if you have an MKV file made by 1.15.2 and it is unplayable, just open this file with 1.15.1 and save to another MKV - it would ...

Will the next version of Makemkv support muxing an MKV with 2 video streams (made with mkvtoolnix from an old Makemkv backup) into a DV-compliant MKV?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Out of curiousity did anyone try reencoding the BL ( same res just lower bitrate x265 ) and then mux it with the original EL into mp4? I wonder if that would be still playble on my LG C7 internal player. Non-MEL EL contains residue - i.e. result=some_RPU_magic_function(BL+EL) . By changing BL (and ...

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?

If I need to flash this, well, I use a Mac and have no access to a PC/Windows. So I'd like this to work right out of the box with MacOS Catalina and MakeMKV 1.15.2. It will. But if you want LibreDrive, most likely you'll have to update firmware. The native OSX flashing tool is present in 1.15.2, bu...

Re: Libredrive version v6

I see that BH40N is supported, any chance for BH30N support? I don't know how different they're, despite the fact that the 30 version is older. It's quite cheap here, almost half price compared with other drives, wondering how useful can it be. Do you have one? What is displayed on the right pane w...
