Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

I just checked my PC (Win 10) and the system only has ACHI or RAID for the SATA controller options. I am in the market for either a new drive downgraded that will properly handle the UHD disks (preferably a new ASUS BW-16D1HT with firmware 3.01) or someone who can perform the downgrade on the drive ...

Re: UHD drives

Okay, I am totally confused. I just bought an ASUS BW-16D1HT. It came with software version 3.03. It cannot read 4k/UHD disks (I only tried one, "Serenity"). It has no trouble with DVD and Bluray disks. I only want to use it with MakeMKV. Exactly what do I have to do? From what I have read I need to...

Re: Feature Request: Preview Window in MakeMKV

What version of VLC does this? When I try what you suggest, Playing back the ripped mkv of a single episode, the title submenu is greyed out, not able to be selected. I am running VLC 2.2.1.

Seamless Branching and audio dropouts

After much research on audio dropout problems on some newer BD disks, the consensus appears to be that it is a problem related to seamless branching. Wouldn't any "branching" be eliminated when makemkv rips a disk and joins the multiple mpls segments into one file? Shouldn't the fact that there is a...

Re: John Wick - US Version

I have done a lot more research on my Audio dropout issue on the John Wick BR disk. The consensus seems to be that it is not a TrueHD+Atmos problem, but rather is related to Complex Seamless Branching. I am not sure what exactly that is, but I understand it is related to piecing together a bunch of ...

Re: John Wick True Audio problem

The trans-coding sounds reasonable, but how do I do that? And if it appears as a flac track Will my player still recognize it as true HD ? I believe my Player can handle flac as most of my music is encoded that way, but what will happen with the AVP when it gets the HDMI feed from the player. Not a ...

John Wick True Audio problem

Has anybody successfully ripped Any version of John Wick and gotten a good TrueHD track? I am unable to do so. I have tried various files (MPLS's) with the result always being the same. The TrueHD when selected as the track to use on my player always has major audio dropouts. I am doing a rip right ...

Re: Audio dropouts from mkv with truehd

Did you ever get this resolved as I am having the same issue. The 5.1 track plays fine, but not the TrueHD track. I have a huch it may be the Atmos encoding on the TrueHD track.

Any help would be appreciated.

multiple titles

On some newer BD disks e.g. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, I get a very large amount of titles selected when the disk is analysed. I normally only want the first one, but to do that I need to de-select (uncheck) all the others. All of the titles seem to be of the same size gbyte wise. Why is...

Re: John Wick - US Version

When I play back my RIP of John Wick the true HD audio track has a lot of dead spots. By this I mean, the video keeps going but the audio stops for a moment or two (seconds). This does not happen if I use the 5.1 audio track. Any one know why? Any suggestions on how to resolve? Re-rip?

TIA

Re: Download issue

That was it. I ran the install as admin and all is good. Thanks. What bothers me is I am an admin on the machine so when I run a process it should always be as admin.

Download issue

I have attempted to download version 1.9.0 for windows several times now. The install goes completely as expected with no issues. However when done I still have makeMKV version 1.8.11 on my system. I have no idea what is wrong. According to the installation dialogs it is installing 1.9.0 in the corr...

Re: Life of Pi

I just finished watching the Life of Pi. The rip was perfect no artifacts or issue, just good clean audio and video. My granddaughter is visiting and we watched Argo and Life of Pi. She asked how do I know if a movie is good? I told her there is a simple rule: If it is nominated for the Best Picture...

Re: Life of Pi

I was able to resolve the issue (I think). I had anydvd in the machine so I started it first and then started makeMKV. The process completed normally and ripped the disk. I opened about 1 minute in my theater and started correctly so the Pressure is off. I presume what I sent will assist you in impr...
