Re: Anyone have any suggestions for a good 4k UHD Blu-ray player?
I'm looking for a 4k blu-ray player for my grandparents and need one that has no special frills and internet connections. I just want it to be exactly like a regular old DVD player: Pop in the disk, press play, and you're done. But I can't find one like that.. Any ideas? Panasonic UB420 (non DV) or...

Re: Anyone have any suggestions for a good 4k UHD Blu-ray player?
As far as I am aware, all UHD players require internet access. They have a connection but that does not mean you have to use it, except in the case if you want to do firmware upgrade but that can be done by downloading and using a USB stick. If you want to use the inbuilt streaming apps, then yes -...

Re: How to remux 4k with Dolby vision & Atmos
Sure is, with a caveat - the DV in the file will only contain a single layer, ATM MakeMKV cannot do dual layer DVzerocool2021 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 12:56 amIs makemkv capable of making a remix of a 4k uhd with Dolby vision and Atmos?

Same here, so setup a MakeMKVDataDirectory folder on my C: drive and in the Preferences pointed to there. No issue ever since, updates .tar file without problems now and works every time.

Re: New Intel Chips
Simple, just keep an old PC with MakeMKV on it and use an external drive that can be swapped between machines.centuryx476 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:24 amWonderful.

Re: Have not mkv'ed 4K's in a while...
OK... I'm an idiot. So not doing this for so long... I just realized by looking at preferences (Thanks McNut's for pointing me to preferences!), my drive letters had changed and it was using the MakeMKV data folder as a drive letter no longer assigned in my computer. Total error on my part. So for ...

Re: 1.16.5 and Beta key - is still needed?
but I would like to ask, if Beta key is still needed for using version 1.16.5? Yes When you click About in 1.16.5 there is an information: "This version expires: Sun Feb 27 2022 [88 day(s)]". So how to understand this information with relation to Beta keys, which are added month to month?...

Get a NAS, 2 bay or 4 bay, it does the RAID for you and once set up you can save & stream to your hearts content.leosantare wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 2:57 amI guess that leaves the only option of using a RAID configuration for multiple drives. Although, I don't think I would want to do that.
Thanks in advance.

Use this setup, works for me.NefariousEconomy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 6:49 pmIs there any way to prevent this or am I doomed to rename all files it outputs?
Start MakeMKV
View -> Preferences (Opens MakeMKV Preferences box) -> Advanced
Set Output file name template to {NAME}{title:+DFLT}
Apply -> Close MakeMKV and reload
