Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I've not seen this posted here yet and I am not taking any credit for this info (it comes from the AVS SHIELD 2019 Pro thread) but someone posted that MrMC has added support for Dolby Vision in the latest beta. There are issues with it but they're working on fixing it. I think we're at the beginning...

Re: Spider-man Far From Home and ASUS BW-16D1HT

Thanks, that'll be nice to know in case I ever get motivated to pull my ASUS apart and clean the damn thing. That's the drive that gives me the most trouble.

Re: Spider-man Far From Home and ASUS BW-16D1HT

Do you want to document pulling one of these apart and cleaning it for people? I suspect that process would make people nervous if they've never done it before.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

First the 2015 shield has no dv support at all. Second kodi doesn't support dv on the 2019 shield at this time.

Re: Asus BD-16D1HT firmware upgrade problems

It's been asked about many times. Right now Mike hasn't enabled it for any drives. In the future a nice SDF update through the automatic downloads could enable it when Mike pushes it out. He's given no timeframe for when that'll happen. Glad you got it sorted out!

Re: Asus BD-16D1HT firmware upgrade problems

That's because you flashed the official ASUS 3.10 firmware. Please don't do that. LOL You need to flash the custom MK firmware that's stickied at the top of this forum. What I mean by "please don't do that" is that on these drives you should never be flashing official firmware like ever if you want ...

Re: AACS2 O/C v65

The quality of these drives leaves a *LOT* to be desired. I got lucky with my NS60 and 16D1HT drives. But as time has gone on, quality has gone way down on the newer releases of them. So it's not surprising to some of us that have been around a while that you've managed to get defective drives. It's...

Re: AACS2 O/C v65

Just to be clear and referring to my post on ASUS 16X. Upgrading older drives manufactured after April 2019 will not work consistently with new encryption regardless of whatever FW you use. I Have run extensive tests supporting this. LG / ASUS are clearly upgrading their Laser HW to meet new encryp...

Re: AACS2 O/C v65

Sorry, but, I don't buy that premise in the slightest. It has nothing to do with encryption. I believe their shoddy drives are defective and their lasers have problems reading discs...which is what I see in your log there. But I absolutely do not accept the theory that the laser has anything at all ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I've ripped my ISO and extracted all the components via eac3to. I then created the "single layer" mp4 file using the Dolby MP4muxer command line tool. Why could I not simply MUX this file with the Atmos TrueHD+AC3 audio component (and my Chapter and forced SRT file) into an MKV using MKVToolnix (fo...

Those look like read errors. What does that have to do with aacs?

Re: Proper UHD Drive Test Procedures and Software

For me if the title is supported I'll do a decrypted folder backup. Otherwise I activate libredrive and make a protected iso with imgburn that I can decrypt to folder backup once the key is released.

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV

Someone reported a couple more issues with CloneBD and Elby said they were working on a fix, but, it's not something I ran into and it didn't look like the same dropout issue. Once they released the build that rewrote MLP support I reripped all my ATMOS titles with it and had zero issues with audio...

Re: List of uhd discs with Atmos audio dropping out

That's why I linked to that thread. Another product from Elby has done extensive work to fix this problem. Since they rewrote their MLP support, I've not had a single dropout with ATMOS in an MKV container. My workflow these days is to rip to backup folder with MakeMKV and then process that with Clo...
