Reboot the app - kill the app process and then start the app again - fixed the problem for me. It seems that the Plex Android client app caches playback setting of files previously played (that is my guess). Renaming the mkv file name also works. Yeah also thought of this one, since there are days ...

Anyone managed to find ExoPlayer v2.12.0 (2020-09-11) the .apk file? If you are referring to the latest release build of exoplayer on github, then you are not going to find one. To trigger Dolby Vision it must be single video channel or will work with dual video channels? (the new Plex beta) I would like to know the answer to this as well. I just got it from play store, and it works IF i set refresh rate manually to 23/24fps (LG E6).
Dod you changed the refresh rate from plex settings or tv settings?
Shield settings.
Done that and still nothing.

What do I do wrong!? My setup is: Nvidia shield tv pro 2019, Panasonic hz1000, all ok for DV. Using the previous version of Plex, 8.7, Dolby Vision was triggered when playing some test files or single video channel mp4 with DV. Now after installing latest beta 8.8 Dolby Vision is not being displayed...

That's anyone's guess. I've never been able to get the beta of plex on my SHIELD so I'm probably going to have to wait, as well. There's an apk in the link. I just got it from play store, and it works IF i set refresh rate manually to 23/24fps (LG E6). Dod you changed the refresh rate from plex set...

Alrighty that sounds wonderful! Now, what does that mean and how do I do that? Preeeeesh. :))) You start learning how to extract the video channel and convert your files or go torrenting. Haha.
