Re: Simple way with GUI to Re-encode from VC-1 to h264, h65 or anything "Plexable"?

I'd rather invest in cheap media players that can handle VC-1 instead of wasting time and energy on conversion. Plex would then simply deliver the content without on the fly encoding and you can watch the original rips.

Re: Forced Subs... Again

kodi does not play them without selecting them first As you can see from my table above, Kodi DOES play them without selecting them first if you play back from MKV. Ripping an entire disc including menu is something entirely different and I actually never saw the point of doing it. the one I replac...

Re: Forced Subs... Again

I need a way to identify the right subs tracks for none English like alien or foreign language in films. Actually, what you need to do is to read what's been said on this subject already. For the umpteenth time: there is NO WAY to identify the subs automatically, it has to be done manually. You can...

Re: Forced Subs... Again

Well... have you tried it? If not, here's some subs with various flags as well as forced items: mega.**/fm/nGBzUIgI/fs+.rar Copy the line to your browser's address bar and add the protocol in front of it and replace the asterisks with the top level domain, then press enter. PW is the name of the too...

Re: forced subtitles

The only problem I have now is that my TV (Panasonic GT50) plays mkv's just fine from my media server (from a NAS), but it never shows subtitles without explicit user selection of the desired title. Is it like this also with the forced sub muxed as first track and flagged properly (default + forced...

Re: Forced Subs... Again

Kodi's subtitle settings are set in the OSD. If set to off, it should still display PGS subs flagged as forced. I know it did on my system but I can't remember if it was on Android, LibreElec, Raspi. Gonna have to check and report back...

So... why not report this on the VLC forums where something can be done about it?

Re: forced subtitles

On the one hand you say it's simply the standard structure inside a folder with a .dvdmedia extension, on the other hand you say VLC can't play the subs. That doesn't add up. You could try re-authoring with DVD Shrink but if you want ro remux anyway, you most likely will have to manually set the fla...

Re: forced subtitles

It would be no trouble if the disc authors would bother to author their streams properly which they don't. And there's also no reason to blame Makemkv for not being able to handle proprietary dvdformat Apple somehow felt the need to cook up rather than going with ISOs or something.

Re: subtitles hdmv pgs won't appear

BDSUP2SUB converts PGS to Vobsub but if you need to work on subs anyway, you might as well OCR them to SRT with DVD Subextractor (which also does PGS). I'm astonished to hear your TV does bitmap subs (Vobsub) at all.

You can use BDInfo to open mpls and see what m2ts are used and how many minutes they run.
