Sorry for the really late reply...
It ended up that I needed to run the app in admin mode because of UAC.

Dude, this totally helped me out. I wasn't sure that with my hardware changes, and moving a 5.5" drive from a desktop to a USB controller on a laptop would work. I was able to browse the drive through the Open File dialogue, but it would not populate automatically. I get the annoying UAC prompt...

I recently moved from a broken down desktop to a newer laptop that lacks an optical drive. I bought a USB to SATA controller to allow my old desktop BD-ROM to be used on my laptop.
