Re: R.I.P.D. UHD no Key
Very strange, MakeMKV still does not rip the disk for me... There are two entries for a UHD disc like yours already in the public KEYDB.cfg file, which you can download from http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net and unpack into your .MakeMKV directory. Does either of these entries allow MakeMKV to decrypt...

Re: The volume key is unknown for all discs
You've done it! Thank you, MrPenguin!! My issue is now resolved. ... It would have been helpful if the logs indicated that this file was missing. No problem, I'm glad it has all worked out . To be fair, had MakeMKV been able to access your BluRay drive directly then it would have been able...

Re: The volume key is unknown for all discs
Keys are not needed for standard BD. MakeMKV follows the correct AACS decryption process from the start to decipher the keys. That decryption process involves providing device keys and host certificates to an actual BluRay drive to obtain the media key and volume ID, whereas the only BluRay drive i...

Re: The volume key is unknown for all discs
I think the OP is doing regular blu-rays. Shouldn't need to download any keys for that, right? It should just work. The OP would still need keys to decrypt the AACSv1 files on the ISO images, and it would appear that MakeMKV's hashed keys doesn't contain any of them. If multiMAN is supposed to have...

Re: The volume key is unknown for all discs
It sounds like you need to install the latest KEYDB.cfg into your $HOME/.MakeMKV folder. You can download this file from http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net. The filename is case-sensitive, of course, and so you will need to rename it from keydb.cfg. AFAIK the svq@makemkv.com email address is for computi...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Even 1.00 was incompatibile with Libredrive! MakeMKV info gave me the same message (Possibile but not yet enabled). It was a new 2023 drive! My understanding at this point is that while 1.00 wasn't immediately compatible with LibreDrive, compatibility was still theoretically possible. I have no suc...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
This firmware is dated 2022-12-27, which means it is almost certainly incompatible with LibreDrive.Venturer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 6:12 pm1.01 firmware (downloable for Pioneer Japan website - you had to translate japanese): BDR-XS08MBS_FW101EU.exe: https://file.io/nftmeaQAzR05

Re: Which drive?
however, all these devices have their firmware as I got them when ordered from asmcom... so not sure whether these count as cross-flashed in your sense or not. Basically, if Pioneer itself says that your drives support UHD then Asmcom won't have cross-flashed them for you. But anyway, Asmcom is exp...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
A 1.01 firmware was released for XS08 but obviously is the same of 1.00! My drive had 1.00 firmware from factory! I upgraded to 1.01 just because 1.00 was already locked to libredrive (i not so fool if it wasn't) and 1.01 improves disc writing! What does MakeMKV say about the 1.01 firmware, seeing ...

Re: Which drive?
I have always assumed that a Pioneer that has been cross-flashed to be UHD-friendly would therefore provide a RDK when given an AACSv1 host certificate, even for a UHD disk. Is this not the case?

Re: Cant rip my 4k Blade Runner 2049 disk despite LibreDrive enabled and MakeMKV connected to Servers (Verbatim 43888)
I can confirm that it is probably a Linux problem. I just tried it on my Mac with MakeMKV 1.17.6 and it works flawlessly. To be fair, "Blade Runner 2049" was one of the first UHD disks I ever ripped, and I also used a Verbatim 43888 on Linux. The only difference was that I used MakeMKV 1....

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Is there a hope for Pioneer BDR-XS08MB-S for Blu Ray 4k ripping? No matter 1.00 or 1.01 firmware......this unit is born already locked for libedrive but MakeMKV still tells Libredrive is not yet enabled! I own a Pioneer BDR-XD08U which is LibreDrive-compatible: Drive Information OS device name: /de...

Re: Cant rip my 4k Blade Runner 2049 disk despite LibreDrive enabled and MakeMKV connected to Servers (Verbatim 43888)
I now have good reason to believe that LibreDrive is not reporting the correct VID for UHD disks when using a Verbatim 43888 drive, at least as far as MakeMKV 1.17.6 is concerned .

Re: UHD VID inside discatt.dat and discattd.dat
I have just bought the 4K version of "2001 - A Space Odyssey" and discovered that my Pioneer BDR-XD08U writes the correct VID into discatt.dat. I must therefore assume that my Verbatim 43888 is writing an incorrect VID. This means I could actually be seeing a "LibreDrive" problem...

Re: Cant rip my 4k Blade Runner 2049 disk despite LibreDrive enabled and MakeMKV connected to Servers (Verbatim 43888)
Yes, these 43888 drives ARE power hungry. Some ports might not provide enough power. If they do - consider yourself lucky. Well, I certainly don't put the USB HDD I'm ripping the UHD to on the same bus as the Verbatim I'm ripping from . But we're still just speculating based on the information give...
