Re: DVD Read errors
Well, what does MakeMKV say about the disk? You've posted information about what Linux says, but not the MakeMKV debug information... Just because a disk "plays" in a DVD or BD player does not mean it doesn't have flaws. DVD/BD players are programmed to skip over flaws, but ripping is try...

Any way to make 1.8.6 to compile on Linux Mint-MATE?
I have followed the "fix" for 1.8.6, and even the fix won't compile.
What repository has libavcodec and libavutil or where can I get the source?

Re: Now You See Me DVD
Title 7 and 8 copied out for me -- boith are pretty close to the same size, I'll have to watch each to figure out which is good. Wish I could meet the ..gentlemen... responsible for coding this corruption on the discs like that. I'm sure a few well placed strokes of encouragement would do them well.

Re: Now You See Me DVD
So MakeMKV just finished backing up my disc. It was able to back up two of the four titles. Source title ID:1 and 22 both failed and 14 and 24 completed successfully. Now I will sit down and watch both of those and see if I can figure out which one is legit. Here is the log if you are interested. S...

Re: Now You See Me DVD
I get consistent failures over VTS_17_1.VOB, 24_1.VOB and 01_1.VOB. Title 6. 9 and 10 fail to save. I have tried this one two LG BD burner drives -- the older, slower one is region set in region 1, the newer faster one is not yet region set. Saving 11 titles into directory /home/dale/Videos/Now_You_...

Two diffierent PCs, two different BD drives, same results.

Now You See Me DVD
This is stil in the drive ripping, so I'm sure there will be more ... dvdbackup that relies on decss2 also fails but with different messages and goes into a loop that slolwy consumes all CPU until the host is unresponsive. Edit: MakeMkv has the same issue - it apparently reads the disc in a loop unt...

Re: Errors with "Not Fade Away" DVD
Please provide the IFO files as well, per /faq/item/8/catid/6 What do you see after opening disc in GUI? Do you see the title you've expected to see? Is the length and chapter count right? I apologize for the delay - I will provide the files as soon as I can. Possibly by the end of the week. What I...

Errors with "Not Fade Away" DVD
I have run into several disks with decruption issues recently -- perhaps some new scheme that the decryption libraries haven't caught up to yet? Not Fade Away and Jack Reacher have both exhibited pretty much the same behavior, but this is log is for "Not Fade Away". Link to debug log file ...

Re: Can MakeMKV create ISO images from DVDs?
I don't do windows. What I'm really looking for is a way to store the mirror of the ISO less corruption but without any (further) conversion of the video/audio. I do at times run conversion of one or two of them to another (smaller) format to take on the road with me, but I - at least currently - ha...

Can MakeMKV create ISO images from DVDs?
Is there a command line function or switch that will cause MakeMKV rip and convert a DVD disk to ISO image, including all the menus and navigation? And on Linux... Essentially a bit-for-bit copy less the rights restrictions? If you really want to know whay I ask, I have been using dvdbackup to creat...
