Re: UHD The Last Jedi failing at 27Gigs

1. Attempt a full decrypted backup at least 3 times. (You must do a full backup, not simply rip to MKV.) 2. Eject the drive tray and close it again. 3. Repeat the above steps until you get an error-free rip. 4. Open your decrypted backup with MakeMKV and save your movie to MKV. I tried this on my d...

Re: UHD The Last Jedi failing at 27Gigs

No luck so far. It fails to make a backup as well. I also have the Non-Steelbox version from Best Buy. But I'm not giving up!!! Same deal for me. The backup I just tried gave me the following error: IPC error (Mac OS X) The IPC error happens when operating system (Mac OS X) suddenly "looses" the Bl...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware

I have this drive in an external usb enclosure connected to a Mac. My firmware is currently 3.00 and I would like to update to 3.02. Is it possible to do this with a Mac? I have Parallels installed and I haven't been able to run the firmware update either from the Mac side or from Windows in Paralle...

Re: LG WH16NS40 can't read The Last Jedi

(Same drive and FW.) I'm not quite sure what's going in my system but both of my first two UHD rips (Coco and TLJ) have the same problem -- the initial attempts fail (eg. hash check errors in BDMV/STREAM/00018.m2ts for TLJ). However, if I read through the offending file (using "dd" in Linux), there...

Re: LG WH16NS40 can't read The Last Jedi

This is my first UHD rip as well. It turns out that I put the hashed key file in the MakeMKV folder under Program Files instead of the data directory. That was why it seemed like keys weren't available for my disc. I put the key file in the proper location, and of course it works now... to s...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

So while this method indeed works and produces amazing results, be very careful to follow the instructions closely. If unsure - just wait for more user-friendly tools to be released. There will be another announcement on this forum. Has there been any further word on this? I'd love to wait for this...

Re: UHD drives

What type of drive are you using. Do you have the proper firmware and did to have to reflash your drive to obtain the correct firmware? Sounds to me either wrong firmware, drive and or defective drive. Im sure you have made sure it's not the disc itself. My drive is a LG BE16NU50 and it came with 1...

With mine, it spins for five or ten seconds and then ejects the disc.

Re: UHD drives

I ordered the LG WH16NS40 a few weeks ago and as my luck would have it arrived with with 1.03 firmware :( :( . After reading on several ways to downgrade to 1.02 I choose DOSflasher method and it worked great. Now the question is I'm ordering the same drive again for the future so can I use the sam...

Re: UHD drives

Please help me! I purchased the LG BE16NU50 (the external one) which is in the "UHD friendly" list, but everytime I insert a UHD disc it just ejects the disc after a while (on macOS 10.13) or MakeMKV shows "No disc inserted" (on Windows 10). On the back of the drive it says "ROM VER: 1.02 " and Mak...

Re: UHD drives

I have a LG BE16NU50 drive that I'm trying out with a UHD disc for the first time. It has previously worked fine for HD blu ray discs. I put a UHD copy of It in the drive to try it out with MakeMKV, but the drive just spins for a few seconds and then ejects the disc. The disc works fine in my Oppo p...
