Re: Rip files to NAS

Glad you found the answer... For what it is worth, SMB networking has always been a pain to use on any non-Windows system, mostly because, well, Microsoft apparently threw it together over a few drunken party weekends, and then expected the rest of the world to understand it. ;) SOMETIMES the name-t...

Re: Rip files to NAS

And the path you used to access it from the command line didn't work in MakeMKV? By "access", do you mean read from the path, write files to it, or both? Does the user MakeMKV is running under have permissions to create directories and files on the NAS? Linux will enforce the strictest acc...

Re: Rip files to NAS

It will save to a MOUNTED network resource. In Windows, you can specify a network resource that isn't currently mounted as a drive, and it will (essentially) be mounted behind the scenes for the duration of access. Assumptions will be made as to privileges and such, depending upon the security polic...

Re: Windows MakeMKV Can't Write to HFS+ with MacDrive

The issue would be that the Mac is sharing the drive in a way that Windows thinks it has a 4GB limit.

Does Windows let you COPY files larger than 4GB to the drive?

Re: TV Season has all episodes in one big file

Alternatively, if you are later processing the files into MP4 files using a tool like Handbrake, you can break the episodes out by chapters there. I'm doing 5 disks right now that are just like that... 4-5 episodes per file.

Re: Blu-Ray Chapters

A different question - are you doing a BACKUP of the BD, or OPEN then save the titles? When MakeMKV saves a track as an MKV file, the chapter markers are there... But, I just looked at a decrypted M2TS file from a backup of Avatar, and both HB and VLC say there are no chapters in it. On Handbrake it...

Re: Blu-Ray Chapters

What program are you using that says there are no chapter markers? They should be in there - and programs like Handbrake and VLC see them just fine, whether the source is a DVD or BD, in my experience. In fact, I don't remember any settings that would remove them. That said, there are programs that ...

Re: Horrid Henry 3D

"Just crashes" when you put this disk in, or when you start the application? You've been very vague about a lot of things. Mac? Windows? Just this disk? All BDs? All DVDs? You'd think you had Windows for Cars, where there's just a big red GENERAL CAR FAULT light on the dash for everything....

Re: Can rip DVD but only in 1 file

Whether it was a Java or .Net error is kind of moot right now, one of the recent changes to the nightlies has removed the batch file option from the Queue window on Windows. I can still run existing batch files, but the only option I have found (after clicking and right clicking on just about EVERYt...

Re: Rip Blu-Ray to just one .mkv file

Since the BD itself is made up of multiple files, the only way to get "everything" in "one file" would be to rip it to an ISO image. Then, you would need a BD-aware player to be able to decrypt the files within it when you play it. MakeMKV is going to either pull the tracks as MK...

Re: Can rip DVD but only in 1 file

You will find the combined-in-one-file issue common with Anime. The latest versions of MakeMKV are better at reading the disk to find links to the individual episodes when the disk ALSO has a "select an episode" option, but it is nowhere near 100%. You will also want to have something like...

Re: Makemkv and Video Issues

If it always occurs in the same place when playing things back, it might be the file... but, if it occurs at different places each time you play the file, it could simply be that the machine gets "busy" and doesn't feed the data fast enough. In the case of programs like MakeMKV and Handbra...

Re: Can I buy this please?

It hasn't worked on my system for months due to no new versions and the beta timeout Version 1.7.6 came out just last week, which renewed the beta key; version 1.7.5 came out two weeks ago. The trick is that Mike always edits the original (from years ago) message in the announcement section, rather...

And your reason for posting empty messages with nothing to add to your report is.... what? Mike will see your message when he gets time. He doesn't work full time at this, from what I have seen in the past year. If he's like me when I read forums (especially for tech-support), messages are read OLDE...
