Re: Can rip DVD but only in 1 file
You will find the combined-in-one-file issue common with Anime. The latest versions of MakeMKV are better at reading the disk to find links to the individual episodes when the disk ALSO has a "select an episode" option, but it is nowhere near 100%. You will also want to have something like...

Re: Makemkv and Video Issues
If it always occurs in the same place when playing things back, it might be the file... but, if it occurs at different places each time you play the file, it could simply be that the machine gets "busy" and doesn't feed the data fast enough. In the case of programs like MakeMKV and Handbra...

Re: Can I buy this please?
It hasn't worked on my system for months due to no new versions and the beta timeout Version 1.7.6 came out just last week, which renewed the beta key; version 1.7.5 came out two weeks ago. The trick is that Mike always edits the original (from years ago) message in the announcement section, rather...

And your reason for posting empty messages with nothing to add to your report is.... what? Mike will see your message when he gets time. He doesn't work full time at this, from what I have seen in the past year. If he's like me when I read forums (especially for tech-support), messages are read OLDE...

It does if you use the Nightly Builds...rachel wrote:Handbrake, of course, doesn't handle bluray PGS subtitles, so doesn't try to read those tracks.

Re: Request subtitle help.
What version of Handbrake are you using, the release version, or one of the nightly builds?
The nightly builds support burning PGS subtitles into MP4 files, but the release version does not.

Re: MakeMKV is not able to recognize and copy text subtitles
Which do you want corrected, the lack of support for PGS subtitles in the WD players, or the lack of support for SRT subtitles in MakeMKV? Do people author DVDs and BDs with SRT subtitles? Something else I've not seen before... Are you aware that the "nightly build" versions of Handbrake c...

Re: About half of the DVD's tried have completed successfull
To amplify what was said, I have three drives available to me - the Bluray drive I use as primary, an original Sony USB/Firewire DVD writer, and a generic DVD R/W drive in another computer. Sometimes the BD drive can't rip a disk, but the Sony sees everything just fine. The difference in laser and o...

Have you enabled logging in MakeMKV and looked at the logs? What kind of errors are you seeing?

Re: Blu Ray subtitles handbrake
There are issues with how MakeMKV and Handbrake handle the "forced" subtitles. At present, it is best to select the main subtitle track in MakeMKV, and let Handbrake pick out the forced ones. Of course, there are some examples that defy both programs as far as "forced only" subti...

But, if the output is MKV, handbrake will copy the PGS subtitles to the resulting MKV file, and (assuming player support) they are all available.

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
"Always on" is a function of what you play the files with. The Uebo M400 always plays subtitle track 1, until you turn it off. Their M100, on the other hand, never plays subtitles, until you turn them on. VLC goes by your preferences, but the default is to play the first track of your pref...

I don't remember seeing DVDs with a "forced only" options on their subtitles - they're generally separate tracks.

Re: Subtitle Removal?
What are you using to play the MKV file? A lot of players (like VLC, most Uebo units, Seagate Theater units) default to showing the first subtitle track in a file. This is USUALLY what is referred to as "forced" subtitles (only text of signs or undubbed language), but a lot of DVDs are mas...

Re: movie not finishing
What errors (if any) are displayed? At the very least, you need to turn on debugging while doing the rip. Follow the Troubleshooting FAQ at http://www.makemkv.com/faq/item/8/catid/6 for how to do it, and what to submit. For what it is worth, I was able to rip "a" DVD version of True Grit a...
