Re: Can i use this firmware

That's a Pioneer drive, which should NOT be updated with "modern" (from Pioneer) firmware, due to their anti-piracy stance. But, I'll let others go into the details on that.

Re: Can i use this firmware

The BW-16D1H-U Pro has different hardware depending on when it was built. Older ones do not do UHD, newer ones can (with firmware updates).

What does MakeMKV show for your drive information?

Re: Why can't I upload images to the MakeMKV.com forum?

As for why you cannot upload... MakeMKV is hosted with limited upload capability. Unfortunately, we hit that limit about a year or so back, and no one seems to want to clean up old uploads. I haven't had time to go and do that. It's been a decade since I had to clean up a forum that way, so my mind ...

Re: Blu-ray rip error - Too many MKV files in software

From your log, it looks like you are trying to rip a Lionsgate title, with the pieces of the movie spread out among dozens of titles. Only one is correct. When MakeMKV lists the titles to select which ones to rip, are there notes next to them about "Main title" and such? What disk are you ...

Re: Automatic HK download disabled or failed

Snapshots would not do any good, in any case. Yes, there is a size limit for messages of about 65K, so each of those files exceed what a message contains. However, the key is getting around your system's blocking the download. It really only has to happen when you are ripping a disk that isn't in yo...

Re: Running second and third instances of MakeMKV

When you start MakeMKV, are you being asked which drive this particular copy will listen to? If not, bring up the properties, and on the IO tab, click "As for single drive mode". Then, assign each copy of MakeMKV you run to one of your drives. (edited to add, you must restart MakeMKV after...

Re: Typical time to receive a license key via email after payment

I have no idea what Mike may have thought about you, but I have not seen him make such judgments in the past.

There should be no reason to pay again, but Mike will have to be the one who re-sends the key. I'm not even in the same country as he is.

Re: Why do TV series DVD/BD add both 1080 and 480 and joined versions?

DVD is limited to PAL and NTSC standards, so those are going to limit you to 525/480 lines of video. The BBC broadcast in PAL, so getting an NTSC disk from them already means their video has been modified. To some extent, that carries over to Bluray, although the video is manipulated quite a bit to ...

Re: Typical time to receive a license key via email after payment

I would recommend a second email to Mike ( support@makemkv.com ) about it. He can re-issue the key, but he's the only person who can.

Re: Ripped subtitles don't show up in my players

There are flags associated with subtitle tracks for players. Not all players obey the same flags. There is a "Default" flag, which is associated with the language, and tells the player to (by default) display this subtitle when playing this language. There is a "Forced" flag, whi...

Re: Typical time to receive a license key via email after payment

(I had a long reply keyed in, but you edited your post and put it back into the approval queue, which killed my reply...) Typically, the key is generated and delivered via email within an hour. It may have been treated as "spam" by your system; have you checked your spam folder? You will w...

Re: Shouldn't Forced Subtitles Automatically Get the 'f' MKV Flag?

Just a comment that the forced flag in MKVs isn't 100% universal anyway. Some players want the default flag, some want forced, some want both. And subsequent tools may UN-set them, even if you could set them in MakeMKV. Plex just adds their prejudices to the mix. I've got a script that I run on my s...
