Re: UHD drives
And it IS possible to go from 1.03 to 1.02. It just requires making a bootable dos USB stick with the appropriate patched flasher and the 1.02 firmware with laser calibration data. It's not super hard it just takes a little work. 30 minutes of effort will get the drive back up and running perfectly...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I have a new LG WH16NS40 that reads UHD discs but it is riplocked so ordinary bluray rips peaked at 1.6x. Out of desperation, I tried cross flashing to the ASUS binaries posted above. The good news is that either new binary didn't brick the optical drive and it still reads UHD discs. The bad news is...

Re: v1.10.4 winx64 hangs at startup - appears to scan
Have you tried another BluRay disk? I had one badly printed disk which MakeMKV tried to read then ended indicating no BluRay drive present. Even a BluRay player had trouble with that disk.

Re: Pushing Daisies: Season 1
Sorry Rita, you deserve credit for first suggesting Handbrake. A quick Google search also gives MKV toolbox, ffmpeg and command line Handbrake as solutions. I was just piqued that the original poster gave five error reports for his misunderstanding of MakeMKV.

Re: Pushing Daisies: Season 1
You've asked the same question several times. MakeMKV only allows copying of the original disc as it was originally authored. You need to use other applications to edit or reformat the media. Handbrake (and likely other programs) can select and separate the groups of chapters for each episode. I wis...

Equals - DVD with Multiple Mains
Equals has a few possible main movies though not 100's like a BR disc. DVD players show title 30 as the main feature but that does not appear in the check boxes. Title 22 does appear and is a duplicate of title 30. Title information Name: Equals Source title ID: 22 Duration: 1:41:57 Chapters count: ...

Re: Just a real basic getting started question
The "big icon" is the large square on the bottom left with the animation of a disc loading. It's a really big button. If you instead click on the big icon, you will "open" the disk

Re: Single movie has several titles
Be sure to use the "append" choice when you wish to play files in sequence.I tried to combine the separate mkv files into one with MKVTooolNix GUI, but the combined file only plays the first title.

Try a more recent version of MakeMKV. There have been more than 10 updates since your 1.9.1 version.

Re: Version 1.9.6 showing expired?
Agreed...I think if you offered a discount to your loyal beta testers, more would purchase now. And...you would immediately raise some well deserved cash. I paid the full price years ago and it is entirely worth it to see "Never" in the expiration date. If Mike ever needs cash he can simply end the...

Re: Can't get rid of sub-titles
You may also disable subtitles in the standard mode. Just expand the movie title and uncheck the subtitles you do not want. Sometimes one English subtitle track is the is for the foreign language audio parts of a movie (and may not be "forced"). I usually keep all the English subtitles in MakeMKV an...

Re: Copying blu ray with subtitles
You can use Handbrake to burn-in the subtitles. Use preview to be sure you choose the correct subtitle file for the foreign parts (usually the third English one). Then there is no worry if your player supports subtitles or not. This is especially useful if you play the file on various devices like t...
