Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

From the post prior to yours...

"After dumping the firmware, run BH16NS40_EEPROM_Data_Mover.exe, it will ask for your dumped firmware first, then for your clean firmware, and last, the destination and file name for your new merged firmware."

This eliminates the need to manually hex-edit.

Re: Hash Key file missing

So it would appear, but only Mike could say for sure. Seems reasonable that he would want to eliminate the need to manually update.

Hello,
I'm having the same issues as OP. Where can I find a copy of 1.12.2 to go back to? The only version I've found so far is 1.12.3.
Use 'Old Versions' link in my sig.

Re: Help Finding an Slim ODD

The BU40N is a 'UHD official drive'... un-friendly.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show - countless of entries

Batting near zero today... sorry. Only other 'guess' I have is to try a title w/ 36 chapters & a runtime of ~01:40.08. It's an old film. Also, do you have a 'minimum title length (in seconds)' set on the preferences > Video tab. Looks like MakeMKV is reporting ~all the video sequences on the disc. I...

Re: Save selected tracks to one .mkv + generate chapters

Use MKVToolNix GUI. Add the files to be appended together, but before creating the new file, select the Output tab. On the right side near the bottom there is selection for Generating Chapters. Click on it and choose "One chapter for each appended file". Then rip. Wonderful! MUCH better. Thx! Addin...

Re: Save selected tracks to one .mkv + generate chapters

@d00zah : I am pretty OK to use mkvtoolnix-gui.exe to append MKVs. However chapter generation does not happen magically. The GUI has chapter editor, but (as far as I know) it allows only manual creation/editing. I haven't done this recently, so was thinking each .mkv would have a single chapter mar...

Re: Save selected tracks to one .mkv + generate chapters

Create the individual .mkvs with 'MakeMKV' & use 'mkvtoolnix' to join them into a single file.

I'm trying to find a retailer that'll have some of these drives in stock but it's proving to be difficult unless I'm willing to spend a little more than I want to. Any ideas?

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware

Hmm... engineering releases ain't what they used to be. Even F/W archive sites don't offer 'em:

Possibly due to nature of these 'friendly' drives?

Probably easiest to consult ASUS F/W release notes?
Where would I find those?
ASUS support site... usually provided with the actual F/W downloads.

Just got a Asus BW-16D1HT with 3.03 firmware and managed to downgrade to 3.01. I didn't see 3.02 in the clean firmware's file and am wondering if I should bother upgrading to it. What is the difference between 3.01 and 3.02?
