Re: Understanding Ripping Subtitles from Blu-Rays and UHDs

If you only need changing flags, use the Header Editor, very fast process. If you also have the need to remove tracks you MUIST use the remux, but you can also change/set the flags in the remux window before you start the remux. The subtitles needs only some few KB or MB (see in the MediaInfo output...

Re: Understanding Ripping Subtitles from Blu-Rays and UHDs

EDIT: I figured out how to use the Header Function but it has the subtitle tracks renamed. I'm assuming sub track 1 is actually sub track 2, while sub track 2 is actually sub track 3, etc right? See my above answer When I hit EXPAND on the subtitle track why are each options BLANK? I figured out wh...

Re: Understanding Ripping Subtitles from Blu-Rays and UHDs

Do you know how to find out which subtitle track is which in the MKVtoolNix GUI? For instance, I'm looking at a movie called 30 Days a Night which has forced subtitles on Track 2 and Track 4 and it just says HDMV PGS for each of the subtitles and not like track 1,2,3,4, etc The listed sequence in M...

Re: Understanding Ripping Subtitles from Blu-Rays and UHDs

MKVToolnix does not change the content. Setting flags, names etc. can be done with the "MKVToolNIX GUI" Header Editor (left menu, third selection), simply change it and save it. No remux needed to change only header data.

Re: How to rip chronological version of "Memento"

Looks like that MKVToolNIX can not handle this. The best is to create an ticket (Help- > Report a bug) against MKVToolnix that Moritz Bunkus can have a look at this.

Re: Understanding Ripping Subtitles from Blu-Rays and UHDs

Any input on my last post? I'm really trying to figure out the best way to ultimately get the forced subtitle track on my rips. I know I can use MKVtoolnix to default a sub track but no idea the best way to determine which movies have a forced subtitle track. Rip all subs for the wanted language. A...

Re: How to rip chronological version of "Memento"

Do you know a program that doesn't? Unfortunately no  EDIT: While MKVToolNix was displaying the wrong size and gave a time estimate that was wayy to long I think it's very hard to calculate the size for the fragments of an m2ts file. The complete size of the m2ts file is known, what what spac...

Re: How to rip chronological version of "Memento"

MakeMKV cannot rip this playlist, because it ignores the In-Out timestamps. MakeMKV rips always the complete specified m2ts file in an mpls. I think that's the reason why it is a duplicate to the other playlist, because it points to the same m2ts file.

I assume that your equipment does not support DTS tracks.

Re: The Good Place Complete

A lot of Debug Codes ...

Can you change used profile from "Flac" to "Default" to make sure that this is not a conversion problem.

Without any error messages no one can give any help. Please provide a complete debug log, maybe it helps.

Re: Forced Subtitles

When I look at The Sopranos in MakeMKV there are two English tracks, and one is marked as forced. Wrong, it is not marked as forced, it is only the option to separate individuall forced flagged subtitles. It is a new extra track created my MakeMKV to save "forced flagged" individuall subtitles from...

Re: Forced Subtitles

This means having to go through all the subs for each episode and figure out if they're supposed to be forced, then marking them as such. On most series, the subtitle order is the same for each episode. To find out if there is a forced subtitle track, you can use "Mediainfo" and check the ElementCo...

Re: What's the problem

I then removed the USB extension cable I'd bought and the disc played. USB extension cables are always a very very bad idea. With this, the USB components are working out of the specification, anything strange can happen. Unpredictable and random errors and results are possible. USB is not designed...

Re: What's the problem

With the infos from the other thread I whould say you have a problem with the Drive itself and/or Enclosure and/or USB power. The messages shows that the the drive is not ready (ready state) or is already disconnected.
