Re: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

Well, go figure! I tried ripping the disc with v1.12.2, but it didn't have the needed decription key. So I then decided to rip it again using v1.12.3 for the third or fourth time so I could generate a dump file/error log to post here. Of course it ripped successfully! I never saw a scratch on the di...

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

I just tried ripping my first UHD blu-ray. It was a brand new copy of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. I have an "approved" ASUS Blu-ray drive and the latest version of MakeMKV. Everything went fine for about 34 minutes, then I started getting some read errors and the process failed. I have ...

Re: Is My Blu-ray Drive Really The Problem?

Well, I'm relieved and disappointed. I decided to take a really close look at both discs. "About Time" does indeed have an almost imperceptible circular scratch in the outer third. That must be the issue. "War For The Planet Of The Apes" has a single, very tiny bright dot that I can feel and won't w...

Re: Is My Blu-ray Drive Really The Problem?

I did read that thread before posting. Perhaps these two discs have mastering errors? They are literally brand new with no visible defects. They haven't even been played in a set top blu-ray player. I wonder if others have had problems with these two movies. I guess I'll hold off replacing the drive...

Is My Blu-ray Drive Really The Problem?

I have ripped hundreds of DVD and Blu-ray movies with my LG WH14NS40 drive. I continue to rip additional movies without incident. But I have two Blu-ray movies that will not save. They are "About Time" and "War For The Planet Of The Apes". Both discs look perfect to the naked eye. I get hundreds of ...

Re: Virus In Latest 1.10.10 Release?

Thanks Woodstock. Windows Defender was automatically quarantining the file and MakeMKV would stop working. I "restored" the quarantined file in Defender and now MakeMKV seems to be working ok.

Virus In Latest 1.10.10 Release?

I was using the latest version of MakeMKV without incident the past few days. Now all of sudden Windows Defender is identifying the following as malicious and should be removed.

Trojan:Win32/Azden.A!c

If I remove this, I'm pretty sure MakeMKV doesn't work. Any advice?

Re: Please Help A Noob

Thank you yorgo. Perhaps you understand two other questions I have? 1. When ripping a Blu-ray movie I noticed that there were quite a few entries in the log that said something like "Title 0019.m2ts was only 114 secs long which is less than the 120 sec minimum and therefore was skipped." I know the ...

Re: Please Help A Noob

So do I understand this correctly? 1. "Decrypt video" only really applies if you're creating a complete backup of a disc with all the contents intact? In that case you can choose whether to have encryption left in place or removed from the backup? 2. When you're only choosing certain "titles" to cop...

Please Help A Noob

I've just recently decided that I'd like to put my DVD and Blu-ray collection on my NAS. The majority of the viewing will be done in a high end theater. I want to keep the native video quality and the best audio track quality unchanged. I don't plan on transcoding to decrease file size. I also want ...
