Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

We got any electrical engineers around here? I need some help figuring out where and which pins to solder a SATA data connector onto on an LG BP60NB10 which is USB out only in order to dump it's firmware. Happy to send you one if schematics are not to be found online. The few USB drives I've taken ...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

Had a stack of 8 slims to go through today, 1 BU50N firmware BW50, 5 BU40Ns firmware 1.02, 1 BU40N firmware 1.01, 1 BU40N firmware 1.00. So both 1.00 and 1.01 are friendly and released in 2016 and 2017 respectively with 1.02 the cock-blocker appearing in 2018. We got any electrical engineers around...

Re: UHD drives

Howdy yall I'm new to this game, kind of, at least recently. I was going through the thread and wasn't sure if the beginning thread was still accurate and with all that I read I was hoping someone can clear something up for me. I don't run a PC tower but a laptop, therefore I wouldn't normally go a...

Re: The Original "UHD Friendly Drive" Supplier - comin' atcha with sauce!

I forgot to mention I will ship anywhere on Earth but the shipping goes up obviously. I've sent drives to 13 countries now without a single issue. Thank you.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

Hello everyone, as I say above, I have a LG BU40N V1.02 drive that unfortunately displays the default 01be / 03. Do you know if Mike will also correct this problem, or should I move towards a firmware type 1.01 in place of the one I have? I admit I'm not a geek and I'm afraid to flash my reader and...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

The "sleep bug" doesn't bother me, waiting any longer than I have to for a rip to finish does though.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

Is there any real reason not to downgrade the NS60 drive to 1.00 firmware? The only change between 1.00 and 1.01 is the removal of the "friendly" aspect of the drive, correct? I already created the firmware, I just haven't flashed it yet. No reason I know of. You can always cross flash it to ASUS 3...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 and problem reading DVDs

Interesting, I've no idea what my issue is then but I've got 3 Windows 10 Pro machines where makeMKV reports "no usable optical drive found" immediately when the program is run. Windows of course sees the drive just fine. I'm currently limping by with a pair of Macbook Pros, high sierra on one and s...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 and problem reading DVDs

There are Windows 10 security settings that are definitely screwing with makeMKV working properly on my systems. When i find exactly which one it is I'll post it here.

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 and problem reading DVDs

ASUS drives aren't reading anything for me. Here's some debug codes. MakeMKV v1.14.2 darwin(x64-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/alexcoluzzi/MakeMKV_log.txt Optical drive "BD-RE ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.01d" opened in OS access mode. Backing up disc into folder "/Volumes/M...

Whatever that is Not sure if it's possible/practical to downgrade/sidegrade the firmware. you need to downgrade to bu40n 1.00 i have it if you need it and follow teddy's guide: https://www.makemkv.com/forum...
