Re: UH12NS40 Firmware 1.0

Nothing in those links. Only a 3.00 dump of the Asus BC-12D2HT firmware. One member (Terramax) suggests to flash the BC-12D2HT with the BW-16D1HT firmware. Can flashing a read-only drive (BC) with a writer (BW) firmware cause problems? I wouldn't expect my drive to be able to burn discs all of a su...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first!

Looking at my Amazon order history, my internal DVD/BD drives last about 1.5 years. This last one I just purchased I spent ~$3 for a 4 year squaretrade warranty that I am sure I will make use of. I used to monkey around wasting time trying to fix and testing different DVDs but now when I start gett...

Re: UHD support

Sir please email me: alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com You have the right idea with your drive choices. WH16NS40 with a service code of NS50 and firmware 1.0 should at least be recognized for what drive it is. My guess is the service code says NS40 or ROHS where the svc code should be. I’m also thinking the d...

Will these UHD drives from LG require some specific firmware?

Listing drives on eBay or Amazon as 4K UHD Friendly is very dumb and will lead to nothing good I guarantee it.

Re: UHD drives

LG has been VERY adamant about fixing the loophole in ALL their drives since discovery. To the point where they opened up existing stock in their warehouses and begun updating those drives with the fix and repackaging. LOL what? I may have mentioned hearing a rumor about that but it was by no means...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

Thanks Marty, so to get this right, I definitely need to be on SATA0 to read out the flash drive, even if I managed to get one using SATA1? Do I also need to be on the right port to flash it? Does it need to be an IDE connection only for the read-out, or also for the flash? you dont need to be on s...

Re: Can an UHD unfriendly drive read an UHD disc?

Back in April of this year (2018) a fellow forum member, who goes by < jonghotti > and who can be reached at alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com , sold me a 2017 LG WH16NS40 at a great price and assured me it would be the last drive I'd need for awhile. After ripping 100+ UHD blu rays with "my baby" it is stil...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

I'm not Marty but I've flashed 7 drives in the last hour and a half. The answer is yes, SATA 0 with your SATA controller set to IDE mode.

Re: The Original "UHD Friendly Drive" Supplier - at your service.

I appreciate the kind words. I've got a decent amount of stock right now and would love to get you a drive. Please make sure to buy a license for the makemkv software. As far as I understand it the makemkv team consists of one developer and that man deserves to be paid for his work!

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

if you leave a disk in the current uhd friendly drives for 2 minutes it goes to sleep and after that when you try to read disk it wont read and makes horrible seeking noise Isn't that a "feature" of this generation of drive? If that bug were to be fixed across the board it would be fantastic but I ...

Also are you using SATA 0 for the drive with nothing else plugged into any SATA port?
