Re: LG MKV Not Just a Streaming Problem
I have an LG 590 Blu-ray player. It is unique in that it has a 250 GB built-in hard drive. When streaming an mkv file generated from Makemvk from my pc I get error "Format Not Supported" as in the previous messages. I copied the Makemkv mkv file from my pc to my LG 590 blu-ray player's ha...

Re: Errors on HDDVD Rips
As an interim measure would it be easier to allow backing up of HDDVDs to folder? Other tools like EAC3TO could then process the decrypted files and turn them into MKVs.

Re: Broken DVD - MakeMKV Fails - Other tools fix
What EAC3TO says but again the resulting file works fine: eac3to v3.24 command line: eac3to C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB+C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB+C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB+C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB+C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB out.mkv -----...

Broken DVD - MakeMKV Fails - Other tools fix
This is an original DVD in a 20 disc box set, the only one that MakeMKV cant read, makemkv fails about 3/4 of the way through. Both Eac3to and MKVMerge detect a problem but fix it and the resulting MKV is fine. Here is the MKVMerge warning (Occurs where MakeMKV halts): Warning: 'C:\GUNDAM_X_VOL6\VID...

Re: LG BD570
The Dune Prime and Base V3 players can handle all MKVs produced by MakeMKV fine. Based on the same core chipset as the Samsung and LG but a much better implementation.

Re: conversion speed / execution time
I prefer ESATA. Not sure what the performance penalty is with HDs but with a BR drive I saw 10-15% loss with USB, no performance loss with ESATA.

Re: Oppo BDP-83 New Firmware
Hi Cozzmo,
Things improved with the current firmware, DVD rips are perfect but most Bluray rips hard lock between 2 and 30mins in. I'm pretty sure it is not a MakeMKV issue though, the BDP-83 just cant handle high rate MKVs (Yet?).

Re: 3D Blu Ray
Hi Mike,
Any chance of a beta with a 3D support? I got my 3D Nvidia setup last week and should get my official Cloudy With a chance of Meatballs disc this week. Does anyone know of a software that will playbvack a 3D MKV? (Nvidia's Player?)

Re: Errors on HDDVD Rips
I have the non writer GGC version of that LG drive in Win7-64bit. It works perfectly with Windows 7 on my Intel chipset based board with the Microsoft driver in IDE mode or Intel driver in AHCI mode, the Microsoft driver in AHCi mode doesnt work well at all. With either of the two working combinati...

Re: Errors on HDDVD Rips
For those ripping HDDVD, what hardware are you using? I have a friend that has the LG Blue Ray / HD DVD GGW-H20L but he runs on XP and I've read that since this is a discontinued model it is not supported on Windows 7. With most HDDVD's selling for less than a buck, it would be a great way to get H...

Re: 23.976 fps
Ok, I take it back... its not just older DVDs. I pulled out a bunch of fairly new DVDs and tested them out. 90% of them are ripping at 29.97 fps when they are clearly 23.97 fps vids. I upgraded from MakeMkv 1.5.5 to 1.5.6 as well with no change. Cucu, as the originator of this thread... does this s...
