Re: MakeMKV crashing when ripping is canceled

This is an annoying bug in 1.15.1 . Clearly, it will be fixed in 1.15.2, hopefully it would be released soon.

My Asus has stopped again today, it did work after your patch a week ago as per my last post.
Disabled download and applied the last bin file as before and it has started working again.
Please send the log from v76. This could be a one-time glitch...

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

I re-downloaded it, renamed it "sdf.downloaded.bin" and it now identifies as v76. You did everything right. This is a bug, sorry. Please check PM in a bit. However, the application still states that no drive tool logic is contained within (what exactly does that mean?): Some explanation is here htt...

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden

As I said in previous post changing my sata controller from IDE to AHCI sorted the issue for me and every SDF update after worked ok. There were two separate bugs in that code. Hang in IDE mode was just one of them (not rally a bug of my microcode, rather a missing workaround for buggy IDE controll...

Re: How to backup your original wh16ns40 firmware for sake keeping

A. backup my firmware. (can't find the instructions for this using a dos command to operate makemkv, need help with this. No easy way (near to impossible) for this FW version. The "easiest" way - do user area backup (sdftool dump), then flash 1.04 mk, then downgrade to 1.03 and then you will have a...

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

Oh, and there is a bug in 1.15.1 that if SDF.bin has junk at end then sdftool will fail to load it. Just to be safe, please download the latest sdf manually http://makemkv.com/svq/sdf.bin

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

1. You can use any drive OS name or drive Id for "-d" option. On Mac all OS names are ugly, so drive id is more convinient /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS/makemkvcon f -d HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BP55EB40_1.02_211905031515_SIK01K3ND5125 -f sdf.070.bin rawflash main -i firmware.bin 2. Re: help with output file name template

Please see viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22491 . In short, there is no word in template for a disk label. You have to manually copy the name from label into "name" field in GUI. Reasoning is that most of the time you would want to edit it anyway - fix case, remove underscores, etc.

Re: Help an idiot with a 1st gen WH14NS40

Option to save bu40ns flashed to desktop drives too? Depends. It is possible to put back original FW using self-update method, as long as all conditions below are true: 1. Flashed wrong firmware 2. Drive is recognized and visible as "new" but does not work (can't read discs, drive tray does not wor...

Re: Help an idiot with a 1st gen WH14NS40

There is actually a method to re-flash back to NS40 from NS50 without dos-flash, the option will be added to sdftool shortly.

Re: Query Regarding "DVD all region: Yes"

This evening, I noticed after flashing BH16NS55 1.04-MK, Windows was reporting the drive as being Region 1 , still with 4 changes remaining. This seemed odd, but on opening AnyDVD, it stated “Drive (Hardware) Region: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8”. Truly all region, it would seem. The fundamental philosophy of L...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

So, I messed up and let my NS50 BH16NS40 get updated to firmware 1.05, how screwed am I? When I try to load 1.04 MK I get an Updating Failure #5. Just wait a few days for 1.05 MK to be released. . If you really can't wait, you can cross-flash to NS60 1.02 using encrypted MK fw and then then cross-f...

Re: GD-ROM and libredrive

This sounds intriguing. Could you give some details about the CDB for this "read sector by physical address" command? I'd be very interested to try and use it. There is no such CDB. I'm talking about LibreDrive command, aka "SDFW entrypoint". Please see the architecture overview at https://www.make...
