Hi, I have lot of MKVs that I made in the past with MKVToolnix keeping Dolby Vision layer as a second track (in the hope it could be handled some day), I've tried with the latest version of MakeMKV but it doesn't recognize it, any ideas? I downloaded the latest version today and it is showing me the DV info for mkv files, I had to switch to Tree view to see this data.

Just tested They Live, which I ripped in either 1.15.1 or .2 and then used MKVToolNixs to add the commentary track from the Blu-ray. I ran it through 1.15.3 and like magic it now plays in Dolby Vision.

Can you take a look at the plex server logs at what it's doing when a film triggers DV and when the same one doesn't? Just tried a film after 30 minutes of inactivity and no transcoding it outputs the TrueHD track for MI 4 and played DV first time. Probably need to work out how long before the NAS spins the drives down.

It's because the Atmos is being transcoded to EAC3. That's why it takes longer to start playing, it has to transcode the audio and buffer it before it starts playing. I tested all of my Dolby Vision encoded MKVs (ripped using MakeMKV 1.15.2) and all of them triggered DV on my LG B7 OLED being fed by a 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro! The original release from 2018.

So I tried the Matrix which I ripped under 1.15.2 and that triggered DV on my 2019 Shield.

I also tried Last Jedi which I did at the weekend with 1.15.3 and that only played back in HDR.

I just posted in the Blu-ray section, I upgraded to 1.15.2 last week and ripped some discs no issues, tonight tried to rip Paul and it couldn't even open the disc as a few reboots and retries I downgraded to 1.15.1 and was able to open and rip that disc.

Came here to see if this very thing was happening too, 1.15.2 has worked fine since I upgraded last week but I haven't ripped that many discs but have done a couple. trying to do one this evening and it wouldn't open the disc at all. Just downgraded as you said you did and I can now open the disc.

Did anyone ever find an answer to this, it seems the deleted scenes Playlist or in individual form do not appear in the selected files to be ripped but are on the disc if you watch on a Blu-ray player.

seems this is the same across all the Alien films the Anthology boxset.

Just posting to say thanks got my TOS today and had the same issue a roll back seems to be working now on Disc 1. Had to register but think I have used to the software enough to warrant paying.
