Re: slow makeMKV to Handbrake from Blu Ray
Are you running the release version of Handbrake (0.9.5) or one of the nightly builds? There are significant speed improvements in the nightlies! But compressing a BD at high definition does take a while, and a lot of memory. 8gb is about right for Star Trek at 1920x1080 resolution, compressed with ...

Re: Question concerning subtitles in English Language films
Before you look at how to set up MakeMKV, check your player, first - the software used by Uebo and Seagate (amongst others) defaults to ALWAYS showing you the first subtitle stream, and you have to turn it off for each file played. I haven't found an menu setting to change this behavior on either un...

Re: Chapter and aspect ratio issues with certain DVD's
Consider that Mike isn't on here every day. Bumping just means there are a lot of no-content messages between the useful information in a topic and the end of it, when he gets time to come in. I certainly appreciate the concept that this forum (and MakeMKV) is not Mike's entire life, no matter what ...

Re: Disney's Miracle on Blu-ray
What version of Handbrake are you using, the release version or one of the nightly builds?
The nightlies are MUCH better at handling BD data than the release version, although they still cannot handle things like BD subtitles.

Re: version 1.7.0 crashes upon ejecting a disc
"Crash" as in... you get an error message, or the GUI just stops responding? I've had problems with MakeMKV's GUI losing control over the CLI portion after a rip; the CLI simply continues to try to read the disk, even though it's completed its work, and the only way to get it back is to ha...

If you are only using one copy at a time, no need for a second key. Running it on both computers at the same time, well... then you need a second key.

Re: MakeMKV Beta 1.6.16 is 21 months OLD!!!
This is a complaint I've had, but not bothered to post - an ANNOUNCEMENTS section should not have static dates on non-static messages. Please, SHOW that something has changed, by deleting the old message and replacing it with the current one! Then, it will show up if someone clicks on "View unr...

Re: Speed Grapher - can't find titles
Not having this particular DVD, I can say that a lot of Funimation titles have only a single file that contains all episodes. It runs about 50/50 on the Funimation titles I own.

Re: Using MakeMKV and then HandBrake for blu-ray rip
What version of Handbrake? Encoding to MKV or MP4? If MP4, did you turn on the "large file size" option for the encode?
If you're using the release version of Handbrake, consider the "nightly builds".

Re: "Aplication failed to initialize"
Assuming you're talking Windows here... Make sure you have the latest version downloaded. Next, either restart your computer, OR open the task manager, and find ANY running task with "makemkv" in its name, and kill it. Do NOT try starting MakeMKV until after the next step. Run the install....

Re: Windows v1.6.16 still says it is v1.6.15
Unfortunately, the eject button isn't the cause - it's a symptom. Even if you don't use the button, when whatever causes the issue happens, closing MakeMKV just doesn't close down the CLI. It doesn't happen as often as it did a few versions ago. For some reason, when the CLI program reaches the end ...

Re: Windows v1.6.16 still says it is v1.6.15
You probably did not make sure that the command line portion was stopped before doing the install. If you don't want to reboot your computer first (the usual way to fix Windows :) ), you can open the task manager, and find any makemkv tasks that are still running, and end them. Then, re-run the inst...

Re: Sgt Frog season 1 disc 1
Without reading the attached ZIP file, when the disk is being opened, do you see a lot of "Fake cells occupy XX% of the title - assuming fake title" messages? I see a lot of Funimation disks that had this "fake title" problem with earlier versions of MakeMKV, less so with version...

Re: Update to new version
Make sure there are NO instances of MakeMKV still running on the machine. There are some circumstances where the command line portion will not stop when it is supposed to - open the task manager, and make sure. As long as it is running, the CLI can't be updated, so you keep running the old version. ...

Re: [Request] - BluRay .mkv Titles
For what it is worth, DVD rips do not always make use of the disk title for file names - I only see that in 1 of every 10 or so disks.
MakeMKV does suggest the disk title as the directory name in "semi-automatic" destination mode, but only occasionally for me on the file names.
