Re: Forced Subtitles

It's like talking to a brick wall. "The track is marked as forced in MakeMKV, why isn't it marked as forced in the output?" "If it's not marked as forced MakeMKV won't know it's forced." "But it is marked as forced." "Most discs don't mark tracks as forced, so Make...

Re: Forced Subtitles

Only the author of the disc can tell which subtitles should be forced. MakeMKV cannot; so it won't add the forced tag if it isn't there. But it is there. When I look at The Sopranos in MakeMKV there are two English tracks, and one is marked as forced. On the resulting MKV there are two English trac...

Re: Forced Subtitles

MakeMKV isn't going to mark any subtitles as "forced". It will look for them, and write them to a separate track if any are found, but it's not going to insert any tags. But...why not? It should. Doing so would be correct. The vast majority of content with dubbed audio and subtitles will ...

Re: Forced Subtitles

They do work if they are marked as auch. Sadly, this is not always the case. Therefore, check with this website before ripping: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nAMVVnmk3vSaUiuFXcN7D0R69FHIP4tfIkTdThTkXEk/htmlview#gid=20 This is untrue. I just re-ripped s02e12. I checked "English" ...

Forced Subtitles

Forced subtitles don't ever seem to be marked as such on the output MKV file. I've seen this so far with both Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. This means having to go through all the subs for each episode and figure out if they're supposed to be forced, then marking them as such. Which is a massive pa...

LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error in p->FetchFrames(2,true)

What does this mean? It rips fine up to the 14MB point, and then suddenly stops, then sits there for a while, and eventually fails with that error.

Re: Warner Brothers Multiple Movie Playlists

Right, that actually answers the question. I just wasn't sure if it was a fake playlist type thing or something, especially as there was no Japanese audio option on the menu.

Re: Warner Brothers Multiple Movie Playlists

Yes, I know that. That's not what I'm asking. Take, for example, North by Northwest. It has two titles which are the main movie, both 2:16:25 with 47 chapters. One has the following tracks: VC-1 Video TrueHD Surround English DD Surround English DD Mono Japanese DD Stereo English DD Surround English ...

Warner Brothers Multiple Movie Playlists

Seems to be an issue with most of my Warners Blu-rays. There's two full-movie playlists, both with English audio options. One has the same language and subtitle options as the Blu-ray menus offer during playback, the other has only Japanese audio and subtitles. Is it reading the language of my PC to...

Debug Code 322122506

What does this mean? I just got it repeatedly when I inserted a disc, and it ended up giving up and declaring that there was actually no disc in the drive. Ejected it, gave it a quick wipe and reinserted it, and it's working fine. Seems odd. There were no visible marks or fingerprints or scratches o...

Your DVDs/BDs will not explode or run away in the small timeframe you have to wait for the key to be updated by Mike.
Speaking as someone who's found during this backup process that a large number of my discs have rotted and are unreadable...not necessarily true.

Re: Beta key

The DVD functionality is supposed to be free, only the BD functionality is part of the beta.

Re: Why Do I Need a Beta Key to Rip DVDs?

The 30-day BD limitation is definitely there; I hit it when I was using the beta key eons ago. You have to re-enter the beta key to reset it. If you rip a BD the first day a beta key is issued, 31 days after that, you'll have to re-enter the same key. Odd, I'm sure I would have run into it by now b...

Re: Why Do I Need a Beta Key to Rip DVDs?

There's no 30-day limit on BD functionality, because it's still in the beta phase. The 30-day limit only applies to the full, non-beta version, which doesn't exist yet.

DVD functionality is always free, beta or otherwise. As such, a key shouldn't be required.
