Re: Indiana Jones UHD set

The attempted rip was in Ubuntu Linux, using the latest version. I am now ripping in Windows using v1.15.4. Just wondering if something broke in the latest version release. Since it seems that the particular release you have is already supported, it may have been that your Linux machine wasn’t able...

Re: Chaos Walking

I've found that "FPL_MainFeature" is not always correct, which is confusing because I thought that it came from the disc's internal JavaScript. Your 535 seems to match what others have posted. You could do a disc backup (with the decrypt video box checked) and then watch the two m2ts segme...

Re: First chapter of rip silent

Assuming MakeMKV didn’t give you any errors during the rip, there shouldn’t be any issue with MakeMKV. The disc may have multiple audio tracks (it looks like it has a commentary track), and for some reason, one of them may not have sound for that duration. Check which audio tracks are on the disc, w...

Re: IMAX Format Question

I’m not quite clear on what you mean by “movie definition,” but if HandBrake auto-crops from the sides, it will change the width of the final output. If you reduce the crop to 0, you will have to also inputthe original width as well. And of course if you are using one of the built-in presets instead...

Re: Video tearing when there is intense lightning

Yes, this isn’t related to MakeMKV however. MakeMKV simply copies the video stream exactly as it is. If you step through the video frame by frame, you’ll see no issues. It’s a playback issue. Basically, it is related to the refresh rate of your display device and/or your output. Someone else can exp...

Re: Would anyone be interested in a program like this?

Maybe you could connect with lfoust’s new site . I always thought that a disc database would be cool, with disc scans from BDInfo and/or MakeMKV, with any additional relevant information such as the playlist identification that lfoust is doing, and things that collectors would want to know when comp...

Re: Would anyone be interested in a program like this?

It's not for me, but others might find it useful. I don't find it a problem to go through the files and quickly pick out the ones I want to keep, and I prefer doing that type of thing manually. For television releases with multiple episodes per disc, I find that discs are almost always in the correc...

Re: m2ts question

Sometimes a bonus feature will have a "play all" version with multiple segments, and MakeMKV will only list that mpls playlist, not the individual m2ts segments files. I generally prefer to have each bonus feature segment separately, and the "play all" can also have sync errors, ...

Re: Trying to Distinguish 3D from 2D when Backing up BluRay Disc

When you look at the Segment Map, commas separate different segments, while the slashes are indicating that there's two video streams there, one is the AVC component and the second is the MVC component. Also, when you expand the title in the tree on the left side of the application, you'll see both ...

Any word on News of the World? I’ve moved your post into the existing News of the World thread as it will make it easier to track the discussion now and in the future for anyone else, this way anyone with success can also give feedback here. You may have a different disc from others, as there are u...

Re: I created a site to help people know what titles to rip from discs

Adding new titles is a very time consuming process but much more worth it if everyone can benefit from that effort. That doesn't sound good. I've programmed a number of database sites, and getting the data into the system should be the easiest and fastest part of the process, otherwise you're going...

Re: Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files

There are obviously not so few Blu-rays which have this behavior. Yes I agree, and interestingly it mostly seems to be a common thing for UK labels. Here's a list... Thanks very much pixeluk for the long list! Since it is reasonably long, I decided just to mention it in the first post, rather than ...

Re: Problems ripping Aeon Flux

If it was able to successfully rip, the file should be good. What playback software are you using? If you’re using VLC or any Windows built-in software, have you tried other playback software such as mpv or mpc? You may also want to post specifically which country and version of the release you have...

Re: I created a site to help people know what titles to rip from discs

So I was able to load your site on a desktop. I would suggest including the country of release for each title. I would suggest including the UPC/EAN as well, because there can be multiple different releases in each country. I'm in North America and I import a lot of non-NA discs, and of course you w...
