Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Why is [2019 shield tube] the wrong one, they both offer Dolby Vision support. If you are looking to use it to run a Plex server or need the extra memory then I agree the pro version is the one to get. For myself, I already run my Plex server on dedicated hardware so I just need the DV support in t...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Guys, Probably a silly question, but why to add the eac3to step in the procedure? Once obtained the mkv file isn't easier to put it in tsMuxer together with the original m2ts and selecting only the audio track needed? I'm getting Dolby Vision & Atmos without issues in this way... So you'd prefe...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

I have quite a few DV MKVs ripped with previous version of Makemkv into dualPID /separate tracks. Would there be a tool to re-merge the two into the single PID approach 1.15.1 now has? you could try adding the mkv to tsmuxer and create a bdmv folder as output, then use that in makemkv to get a comb...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

There’s been an option for a while now. It’s still in beta and may not work for all apps (no idea about mx pro): https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/support/shield-tv/match-frame-rate/ Ah yea, I remember reading about this ugly workaround. not quite what I had in mind though. If those Chinese amlog...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

it has begun! world's first dolby vision projector  https://youtu.be/KDxzd40gv-4 Well I have a high-end (old) HDR10 projector but madVR HDR to SDR dynamic tone mapping is still muuuuuuuuch better. I don't think it will be any different with those new DV PJ. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I am not even interested in Zappiti, to be honest. cool, me neither :p BTW, the SOCs are not quite identical with Ugoos and Minix. The latter is using some custom S922X-J up 1.7Ghz, but Ugoos is using stock 2.2Ghz clock speed. They are identical, though. Amlogic only released one S922X-J, which bot...

3 Nvdia shield 2019 pro
4 Mx pro
has nvidia pushed a universal match frame rate toggle? I thought MX pro plays 24p movies in 60p, unless the entire shield gui is forced to 24p which makes it slow and jittery? Plex app supports proper frame rate matching.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

There is a better box; it's called Ugoos M6 Plus with supports for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. There is a good review on this YouTube channel for this box link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx3BxCmgL6U&t=17s, fast forward it to 20:45 where he demonstrates it with a native player. According to th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I know right?! that's pretty brutal. I had a feeling they'd tergiversate upon launch, seemed like a marketing gimmick. I still haven't heard from users testing it though, so there's still a small chance it can play (at least prof 5) dv files. soo: https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/dolby-v...

Someone knows how to demux the hevc files created with yusesope tool?
hevc is pretty well demuxed already. do you mean how to extract each individual .bmp file? you can grab some sw at gpac's github, but it would be around 1440 frames per hour @ 24p.

It's just that movie, for the others seems to work fine.
Ah, ok. Yea it's always a pain when there's an odd one out that doesn't work, yet your process is the same. it has a decently sized FEL (6mb/s) which is the only thing I can think of.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

edit: i tried it and seems like it created single layer hmm, is it "correct" or dvdfabmethod? correct. the shield has its own weird color and stutter bugs etc, but all the dv info is retained. comparing the disc to the .ts on x700 is identical. How did you achieved that? Do I need to twea...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just to clarify it, the steps include yusecope's tool to create a DV track, correct? nope, the x700 is capable of playing the DV tracks as is. Just need to remux it in a ts container. Thank you for the response. I am assuming this approach is only good for Sony X700 since other players like Shield ...
