Re: /usr/bin/moc and qt5
I've run into a small problem when installing MakeMKV on Solus OS. Having qt5-dev installed puts a /usr/bin/moc in place that is not compatible with makemkv-oss. Configure runs fine, but when compiling you get a bunch of errors complaining about version mismatch and "the qt difference is to bi...

checking for avcodec_encode_audio2... no configure: error: The libavcodec library is too old. Please get a recent one from http://www.ffmpeg.org I then commented out lines 4897-4899 because I believed them to be in error. 6. Reconfigured makemkv-oss with: PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/tmp/ffmpeg/lib/pkgconfig ....

Re: Volume of Sound fluctuating after upgrade to v1.10.1
I ripped two DVDs of one Series (Story of Film, a documentary) with two different Versions of MakeMKV (libmakemkv). The second DVD is now playing over my Samsung TV with a strange sound problem: The center sound, the speaker of the documentary is constantly changing its volume. I dont experience th...

Elysium 0050.mpls crashes MakeMKV 1.10.2
This is the Linux build. makemkvcon often dumps core and always 'fatal error's out when extracting this title. Sometimes, makemkv crashes too (perhaps a sympathetic strike, or more likely a bug on an error path). I was just grabbing the title out of a sense of completeness: it's a compendium of a bu...

Re: How does the TIPS server/client work?
libdriveio (part of makemkv-oss) does include a TIPS client in libdriveio, but the functions that implement it are never referenced from makemkv-oss, and as far as I know makemkv-bin cannot trigger calls to functions in the OSS side that are thus unreferenced (the only way it could do it would be vi...

Re: Due to a bug in Linux kernel messages
Well, I've just got this message, and since I've got it on an internal libata-accessible drive but not on two USB drives we can be fairly sure that whatever this bug is, it's in libata, since USB mass storage evades it. libata definitely does not get block sizes wrong in the general case, so this mu...

Re: Difference between MakeMKV and MKVToolNix
MKVMerge, MKVPropEdit, MKVExtract, MKVInfo, MKVToolNixGUI. They each have their uses, but between MakeMKV and MKVToolNix MKVMerge is the only program that should be considered in a direct comparison. MKVToolNixGUI uses MKVMerge in the background and all the other programs are definitely not competi...

Re: makemkvcon ignoring settings.conf, thus does not work at
Of course, it is *possible* that this is not an evaluation key problem at all -- but if so, this reinforces my concern that the diagnostics are too bad for makemkvcon to be considered usable at this point. OK, panic over, it's nothing to do with the evaluation key: it's just that this was a DVD and...

Re: makemkvcon ignoring settings.conf, thus does not work at
Note: this bug has successfully dissuaded me from buying MakeMKV. My only use for it is scripted 'makemkvcon backup', but since makemkvcon is ignoring settings.conf of late it is failing to realise that the evaluation key is present, and is permanently failing -- or at least I think that's what's h...
